Reaching speeds greater than 65mph entering the turns, Angie's Curves has raised the level of downhill skateboarding by presenting riders with a track that pushes their skateboarding skills to the limit. The best in the world gathered in Southern California to be tested against the world's most challenging track. With over 125 skaters, advancing through rounds was no easy task. Now after days of waiting, we are prepared to unleash the footage from the event that changed competitive downhill racing forever.

It's wild to think that this race ocurred only about 3 years after drifting became common practice in racing. And even compared to now the riding has advanced so much from what's seen here.

To watch this event was an honor. Unless you were there, you will never really grasp how deadly intense this "hill" is! It's more like a triple black diamond on an icy day. I still get adrenaline thinking about it

He wasn't the only one. MattK, Vegas Mike, and others... there were plenty of injuries over the weekend, but nobody was seriously injured which was an incredibly real possibility and of that we are all stoked. Billy's crash was the certainly the scariest, but again: stoked that he's okay.
