fun fact - Moon likely had a segment down in Parts & Service that got cut he abruptly disappears right after kidnapping Freddy, there’s references to Moon littered *all throughout* the endo tunnels, and he has several unused animations (peeking around corners and beckoning you to follow, climbing up and down walls, sprinting at you etc) based on Freddy’s scrapped voicelines which confirm the endo warehouse originally contained the *map* for Parts & Service (not a security badge) I think there was a cut “boss fight” down in the utility tunnels where Moon stole the keycard and you had to get it back

Honestly, Sun and Moon are the most interesting characters in the entirety of FNaF. The whole "two people in one" trope immediately makes them stand out. And the fact that Sun is genuinely friendly despite not being a protagonist is something completely unique to this game. And the mystery behind how they work just adds to the intrigue. Honestly, it's a shame that they don't have any official merchandise like the Glamrocks. The developers really underestimated the potential for such a character.

my head cannon is that the Daycare Attendent is meant to be a Glamrock Puppet stand-in, with the Lanky body, un-moving mask as a face, and flying around on a a wire

There is a whole subfandom specifically for the DCA. One of the theories is that Moon was used to grab kids and take them down to the utilidors where there is randomly a bunch of kiddie/moon themed items.

I like the idea that moon may have been responsible for some missing children because that would explain why sun is so paranoid about the lights, he knows what moon did and doesn't want it to happen again but also doesn't want to tell any of the staff knowing that both him and moon would be decommissioned

I like that idea too! He must know how dangerous Moon is being, otherwise why stress so much about the lights? The way he desperately says “I warned you” when they do go off, and mayyyybe he tried to hold Moon back when he was transforming

Am I the only one who is is weirdly comforted by both of these characters? Sun especially conjures up feelings of a childhood I never got to have, where someone I could trust was attentive and kind in a space where being obnoxious and playing to my hearts content was expected rather than punished. If the pizzaplex were real I'd break in just to get a chance at giving my inner child that experience.

it makes me happy that my theory about the Daycare Attendant originally being a stage performer/actor kind of animatronic came true a while later. and it makes sense because of how they act. Sun's movement and behavior before he turns into Moon is theatrical and super dramatic. they also look similar to previous versions of the Puppet, like Security Puppet. there were also references to theater in this game involving the Daycare Attendant. they weren't meant to take care of and look after children, they were meant to entertain children. now they're getting the Mangle treatment if you think about it it seems to me like Fazbear corp didn't want to spend more money on making a new animatronic for the daycare, or they didn't want to pay more human employees to look after children, so they turned Sun and Moon into the Daycare Attendant instead to save money

Great video! The Sun and Moon characters have always been interesting, probably since they are very different than the rest of the cast of Security Breach. Hopefully Sun and Moon can get used to their fullest potential in the Ruin DLC, I wonder what they would look like if they were all shattered up like the others, all I know is that it would be terrifying!

I think the sun/moon animatronic helps play into, what I assume is a common fear, the fear of being left somewhere by your parents. I used to be terrified of going to my church's Sunday school classes because I was convinced I would be left there

a few artists and authors in the fandom have headcanon'd that the daycare attendant has a smaller version of a stomach hatch as well (no kids or cakes can fit inside, but costume change accessories and candy would)

Personally Monty is my favorite Security Breach character, he’s super underrated, and I hope Sun and Moon along with the other Glamrocks get more fleshed out in the RUIN DLC, that’s just me idk about y’all, I think they deserve better.

I think we feel the exact same about the characters because I love sun and moon and Monty Monty is definitely totally underrated because (like sun and moon) they didn’t flesh him out enough.

I think that Everything you said was correct, just that Moon, Actually probably did have a little reprogramming done. I think the kids may have almost liked him as much as Sun, because he was most likely the one that put them to sleep, and comforted them during nightmares or such. And that they are probably able to communicate telepathically, and may even have enjoyed each other company before the glitch. I hope that the Ruin DLC expands their characters more, and might even have them as a good character. Yes, both of them, because when BurnTrap died maybe the glitch was weakened down before Vanny or GlitchTrap could strengthen it back up, and with two personalities fighting back against it (assuming that Moon was reprogrammed and wanted to fight back against it.) They May have been able to override it and return back to normal. Of course though, this is all just my speculation, and it probably is just always going to be a theory. i remember when Moon was first teased in the first teaser trailer (when Moon was climbing in the kitchen if i remember correctly) and people were like "who is that?" and "was that Ballora?!" (no joke, someone thought that). I remember when people called Moon "MoonDrop" and Sun "SunDrop/SunRise" cuz of the Moondrop candy also one more thing, i don't like Sun all that much, just find him annoying but i love Moon cuz he's actually creepy

I love Security Breach, despite its flaws (sometimes the glitches can make the game more interesting), but I wouldn’t call Sun and Moon “villains”, especially Sun. They are generally very interesting characters and a great addition to the franchise.

Sun and Moon are definitely my favorite, they had a lot of potential and it kinda upsets me that especially Sun had almost no screentime. I think you should also adress the Eclipse glitch ik the BB game! I definitely think that Moon was affected by the Afton virus while Sun, for some reason wasn't affected. I think Moon was the nighttime's attendant, because they are constantly working allowing Sun to charge while Moons out and Moon to charge while Sun is out. I think that is why they're designed as Sun and Moon, theyre so constantly working that it would be impossible for theyre power to last that entire time. Burntrap probably had NO idea both Sun and Moon exsisted, so when his wave of manipulation took over the power was probably out. Plus, we can definitely tell Suns and Moons personalities are SO different that they're programming is almost completely different as well, Moon mightve tooken the entirety of Aftons glitch, since he seems much more aggressive than the rest.

If u watch Sun skip, u gotta watch his rays. His rays move in and out as he skips. Another thing they also have hidden hand prints on their backs [all over and on the loop] and one on their torso [the part where their top and bottom torso connect]

judging by the night terrors duffel bag, moon was always like this so he probably didnt get affected. Also all the other animatronics say stuff that is an attempt at tricking you like "your family is looking for you" or "come one out kid we are only trying to help" but moon just strait up says that we are a bad boy and we need to be punished

Do you mind if I add something about what I find odd about Sun and Moon and the fnaf books "tales of the pizzaplex"? I have not read the books but of what I have heard and what was said in the video٫ it sounds like moon was always the "villian" between the two in their programming and because the pizzaplex staff thought it was too costly to change their code when making them the daycare attendant٫ they just decided to keep the lights on so it was only sun. Now here is where I have questions. If they never wanted the lights off and only wanted sun as the face of the daycare meaning it sounds like they never wanted people to know that moon even ever existed then WHY would they have advertisements of moon around the pizza Plex if he was to never "exist" anymore. on top of that٫ if moon was always known for is evil personality٫ why make him all sweet and caring in the moon drop posters. If you wanted to get rid of the memory of moon why continue the line of moon plushies as well? I know this is a lot but it was just something that stuck with me after hearing how the daycare attendants weren't always the attendants and that moon was always "creepy".

The books are only parallels to the games, of course there's going to be some inconsistencies. A Reddit post I wrote bc I'm too lazy to explain everything: "I'm late to the party but I agree with you. I personally think Moon has his own reasons for doing things that aren't morally correct. Cassie said she had a good time sleeping at the daycare.. so he couldn't of had been that bad as he is in Security Breach or Ruin. Although in Ruin he does try to attack her, I think It's because he wants to be left alone, (Implied by the fact that he wants to put “Sun” to sleep. I don't doubt that Moon knew no more kids were coming at that time so what would he get out of It If he got rid of his sun side? It feels like to me, that Moon hates Sun, because even when the virus (If we assume he was infected) is gone in Ruin, he is still very hostile. It could be a bad habit of his, trying to suppress his “good” counterpart since he wasn't allowed to be let out anymore in the past) as she in a way, invaded his territory. It's been so long since he's saw a child. He might not even remember her. Sun himself even calls her “new friend”, though Roxy seemed to know who she was. Maybe it was because Cassie was important to Roxy. On the other hand, Sun may of had just seen her as another normal kid who he had to take care of. She didn't have much significance to him. I saw someone say that Moon Is “pure evil”, and while some of his actions can be described in that way, you could apply them to neutral evil as well. I don't think that he is meant to be an “abusive monster” type of character. It isn't specified whether the virus or just his programming (which I doubt) is the root of his malicious evilness + his torment of “Sun" and the kids. To me, with the way he looks, sounds and acts, even when in threat mode speaks “retired wannabe comical supervillain” than anything. It doesn't seem like he was intentionally made with the want to really torment someone or kill them in the real sense."

Frankly, I'm not that big on Sun/Moon like the Glamrocks, but this was certainly worth the watch. I wonder if their popularity might have ties to another moon face dropped a year later... FOAP HBCSJFM (like Fredbear)

There's a theory (that is much better explained by NotRealName NotAtAll) explaining that in the game, there is an arcade game that's basically flappy bird with baloon boy. The sun and moon follow the designs of the faces of sun and moon but there's a glitchy section where sun and moon seemingly combine or *Eclipse*. The theory goes that sun also got infected with the virus but unlike moon, it got trapped in the arcade machine.

Wait... Didn't submechanophobia state that Moon was a glitch or something? I've not read it yet, so I might be wrong, but I saw some snippets about it. Like I thought the book said that it was originally just Sun and that when he was moved to the daycare and the company tried to remove his old theater programming, they couldn't remove the switching to a villain character feature. That feature still being present and the faulty lights created Moon from what I remember...

Well just because he was originally a theatre bot doesn't erase his whole personality/personalities. In-game, It's only implied that they were - so It's not like that whole topic just takes up most of their character. The books are parallels to the games, whether you like it or not. Just throwing that out there. I think hate is a very strong word, and dissatisfied is more accurate. Nobody's stopping you for not being pleased about his backstory.

Just a friendly reminder for people that may not know, book canon and game canon are not always the same thing. Don't get me wrong i do like the origin story in the book but it does not make sens in the game mostly cuz of all the advertisement + the plush toy of moon, if they wanted to hide him there would not be any. (There is also 2 unused voicelines from both sun & moon of then saying "I'm putting you in timeout!" But sens those aren't in the game they may not matter.)

I think they were a theater act and when the company moved them to the daycare, they didn't want to get rid of the moon character, cause it would be a lot of money, and reprogrammed him slightly so he could put children to bed and to watch children, but they still have some of their personality from the theater and it get amplified by the virus. Idk just my thoughts,

i like to think that moon was ment to put kids to sleep when it was nap time in the daycare but then he got gliched and he started killing kids. I dont know why but the thought that moon in the game/books was not what i belived in made me a bit sad because if moon was always like that and was never ment to put kids to sleep then that just makes me sad :(.
