Your video on repairing and filling in a crack was very helpful to me. I have a slab of wood that was part of the tree that was struck by lightning on my property and it has a crack in it after it dried. I want to make a little table out of that. Thank you for your demo.

Thanks for the tips! I've used Titebond Instant Bond Thin several times, and it's my favorite. Kinda wanna try the Knot glue gun.

THANK YOU! I had a cherry tree that had to come down so I had it converted to lumber. I've air dried it to 10 - 12% and have just begun to use it for my projects. The checks and other issues I can see how to use those pieces. Again, THANKS.

great tips...when mending anything with wood, i usually wet the surface ,heat it up so the fibers can be more flexible, then apply the glue and squeeze it up...i figure the dampness along with the heat will help absorb the glue better, and the heat will soften the fibers so that they conform to the new shape of the fix...thanks alot!!!

Excellent fixes! I want to paint our porch. The posts are PT 4x4’s (20 yrs old and sound condition. However, some have deep cracks/splits I want to fill prior to painting. Which filler technique is best for the task? Is Bondo an option?

I'm a big fan of starbond. That's a great idea to bring it down initially with the chisel before sanding. I'll have to do that next time so I'm not sanding forever. Great video!

I saw a guy do the glue and sawdust thing on the one side then attached vacuum nozzle on back side. This helps move the glue further into crack. 😉

For pre-finished wood floor pieces, would the starbond with a flat chisel be ideal for small knots no more than 1/4"? Trying to avoid any sanding whatsoever, as this is for a desk project.

Another option I use is ground copper or other contrasting material instead of sawdust to add a “feature” to my black walnut projects.

CA dries very quickly with or without accelerator. I have been looking for an accelerator that doesn’t smell horrible.

What kind of heat gun is that? Looks like a hot glue gun? Wondering if that would help me fill some imperfections in my hardwood floors as I really don't have time to do them the right way with a drum sander and whatnot.

I decided to order that hot glue gun man that thing is surely expensive I'm planning to use it to fill cabinet door holes sometimes I'm having troubles with different types of fillers and sanding and filling and sanding so I'm hoping that this really solves an issue of mine do you think that for paint grade this will do well and leaving a nice flat finish without additional filling

Well in most cases it’s difficult to tell but in this case the crack went all the way to the end of the board so I was able to see how packed the crack was at the end grain 👍 and turned out I needed to add a smidge more

Ohh man! That chisel working toward your arm… something that should definitely be avoided! Accidents happen when we less expect and think we are in total control. Nice work tho
