Exactly. The choreography of that "walk" is something to behold. Cane...throw the right hip forward...an aide's arm...throw the left hip forward. Over and over to give the public the illusion their president was just a bit lame. Roosevelt was aided by having muscle in the hips and buttocks that were not as atrophied as his legs that allowed him to remain upright on locked braces. Unlike a spinal cord injury, he had feeling his legs and feet - he could tell when his feet were firmly on the floor below him. Absolutely amazing to see this today.

Really? That's what you got from seeing this? I'm about as unbiased on this as a person can get since I don't know literally almost anything about FDR (I don't even know if he's a Republican or Democrat) and my take away was basically "Damn, great job man! You were partially paralyzed from polio and spent 14 years going to physical therapy and are now actually able to walk a bit. That's incredible even with some assistance! Sure there's obviously something wrong physically but that takes a lot of hard work mentally to be able to pull off, especially in front of a massive crowd of people you're leading." If you can't put politics aside for one moment and appreciate the hard work of a man on the opposite side of the fence then that really just shows a lot about you as a person. That's sad man
