I've been all over Africa including the islands of Madagascar and Zanzibar of course, but had never considered Comoros. After seeing your videos I'm not sure whether I want to (go to the expense to) visit or not. As you say, its "virgin" - in that there aren't many tourists yet, but unless I want to sit on the beach and work on my tan, or maybe hire a boat to go snorkeling, there isn't really much to do there. At least (as you say) the food is good, right?

If the citizen and government work together, she will be one of the best tourists' destination. What about peace abd security of the Island for citizens and foreigners? Merci Josey. That's interesting. Some trivia: France invested 4 billion Euros in the Comores (the independent part) in 2019. One island of the archipelago, Mayotte, is still a department of France. There was a votation in 1974 for independence. While the vast majority of the islands voted for independence the majority on Mayotte wanted to remain French. So it became a department with almost the same status as any other French region in Europe. It is in the EU but not in the Schengen area. That's the only difference. However the citizens of Mayotte have the same dark red EU passport as any other French citizen. They can travel, live and work freely in Europe and travel in many other countries visa-free. It's one of the strongest passports in the world. And that in an African geographical territory, imagine. The official currency is Euro. Mayotte has a high influx of Comoriens from the other islands. While I agree that the French have historically left a lot of bad things behind they also must be doing something right. At least better than the British whose colonies were vehemently pro independence.

In 1995, a French mercenary soldier, Bob Denard, with 33 mercenary soldiers, overthrew the Government of Comoros in a military coup.
