VR resolution scale to 120% or above, medium Anti Aliasing (preferred TAA or KTAA), Anisotropic filtering to x16 , Post Processing to Medium or Higher.

Obviously you´ll need Virtual Desktop to get this AR Thing to work as shown in the vid :) But when just PCVR Gaming I often use Steam Link, too

Both… You can either see it all the time but you also can configure it that it is only visible when viewing on it on a specific angle. Also possible to only see see it when pressing a specific key or hold key. Eye tracking is not possible afaik

No as far as I know as you need Virtual Desktops Passtrough Mode. But it is possible to use an USB-C to Network Adapter and you have a rocksteady (network) Cable Conneciton and still able to use Virtual Desktop

It may depends on the hardware.... With an 13900k @ 6GHz and a RTX 4090 I think I have very good hardware... And you can not really compare ACC with DCS... As far as I know DCS is a hardware Burner.... :D

As stated dcs is a whole other kettle of fish. I can run racing sims Iracing,ACC etc with max settings and a really really good frame rate. To get dcs running to a point where it's not choppy I'm running medium to low settings and the instrument panels are hard to read in vr. if I push the fidelity/PD higher the panels are nice and legible but the games to choppy and stuttery for me personally. Not played much since multi threading was introduced. But if your running dcs at highish settings in vr, your pc is going to have to be an absolute powerhouse of a rig for it not to tank

As described neither of the oculus connection types but virtual desktop which is by far better than link and air link

I don´t think it´s a bug it´s a technical barrier the dev needs to work around... And Yes Circles or even better, free forms would be amazing

@ChristopherWoods did you manage to set this up with a Reverb G2? afaik it doesn't offer that kind of passthrough? I also own a G2 and never found out how to use the pass through that the Windows MR flashlights also use...

@@wullxz I ended up not trying to get it working as I got familiar with my wheel position without having to look. I think now it would be more of a distraction than useful.

Out of curiosity: Is there any way to auto configurate it with depth? Aka : I set it at say 50 cm, anything beyond will show the game, anything in front will use pass through ? Considering that the Quest 3 has a depth sensor it might be possible?

It is, tested it but didn´t record it.... If you use a second screen or something like touch portal it will be a game changer when you can place your screens as cockpit monitors.

It’s something with the recording from the quest… with vr glasses on it doesn’t look like this

You can’t compare VR to a good screen, that why I couldn’t stand VR, even if I bought all the best glasses available. Imthej settled for the 57“ Samsung odyssey G9 neo with 8k. That’s what Samsung calls the resolution, but in reality it’s 6k because it’s double 4K. 8K would be quadruple 4K, I really don’t know why Samsung calls it that.

@@rolux4853 what are you refering to? Nobody is talking about VR vs Screen and the blurry effects comes from the recording.... But you are right VR glasses are not on the same technical level as a screen, even the quest 3 is very near (you may try it out, it surely will change your mind). And your monitor is neither real 6K or even 8K.... Check the meaning of "DPI" please. (Resolution isn´t everything, even if you have the same amount of Pixels as real 4k, 6k or whatever) But anyway you will NEVER EVER have the same immersion with Screens, thats just a fact.... (for sure not the (single) G9.... I was VR -> G9 -> and back to vr as the G9 ruined the immersion)... Maybe a triple setup comes close from an immersion standpoint.... That´s why my answer on your Comment "you cant compare VR to a good screen" is: You cant compare a screen to VR! Get it? ;) But nevertheless everybody should perform his hobby as he likes, it doesn´t matter if VR or Flat as long as you have fun.... Happy New Year everybody

@@rolux4853 I much prefer depth perception and the ability to turn my head and see in any direction to a high resolution screen, or even a triple screen setup.

@@DerVali I owned all the Pimax goggles, also the Chrystal. They aren’t even comparable to the toys like the quest or the index but still they don’t offer the clarity I demand. Yea the immersion is better, but I also drive race cars in real life and have the real immersion with the full clarity of my eyes when I am on track. I can let go of the inmersion of VR, but never of the quality of the presented picture. And I don’t know what you are talking about when you say „not real 6k or 8k“. Of cours it’s real, the DPI have nothing to do with the resolution. And that’s what the 6k or 8k means it’s just a measurement for resolution. Resolution doesn’t care about how big the individual pixels are, they could be on a Times Square display with a pixel the size of a squaremeter and it would be still considered 8k if it has the correct resolution.. but I’m just a German engineer working in the field, what do I know .. The only VR goggles I kept are for playing games. Those are the Valve index because they have by far the most superior tracking system. In installed them in a huge attic with 6 base stations so I can easily make 20 steps to each side, which is amazing! That way you can really feel like you’re in the game! I have the cables tied to a balancer under the ceiling, which is „riding“ on a system of cables so it follows you through the room without pulling on your head. I also had a triple screen system before, but the G9 neo 57“ with its 1000mm radius instead of the regular 1800mm is just the best looking monitor available at the moment. Yes it’s pricy but it’s just the perfect emulation of the front windshield without annoying black bars in between. And the front windshield is what I’m looking through 95% when I’m driving my track toys in real life. I very rarely look outside of the side windows. That was the reason regular triples didn’t work out for me, I had this stupid bar ride through the windshield. Maybe I to try setup a triple system with the 57“ curved as my front monitor and two smaller 38“ curved as side windows. The proportions would be correct like in real life, but I have to find them with a matching radius and picture quality. There’s nothing more horrible than different looking monitors in a dual or triple setup.. And 3 of the 57“ curved wouldn’t work because they would be too far away from you on the sides because of the way you would mount them with their big size and the small radius. I’m thinking about a triple setup with the Samsung 55“ Ark monitor as a test, but that ones also not wide enough to display the full frontscreen.. At least the black bar wouldn’t be in the middle of the windshield, so that could also be acceptable. I’m still thinking about the ultimate solution. In the factory we have the by far best feeling solution with a real chassis on a 6DOF platform and a 360deg projector screen around it. But that’s of course not feasible for home use. It’s a full industrial system with industrial pricing. After you used something like that you loose absolutely all interest in VR for driving simulations. I don’t even want to start work the motion simulation system, it’s exactly like in the real racecar, the 6DOF platform is insane together with Rfactor Pro. It’s an industrial solution with custom made tracks and physic systems where every little pebble is transmitted to the platform. The only step up from that would be a centrifugal system that simulates G-forces, but I couldn’t try one of those yet. Only have seen videos of them and they are reserved for fighter Jet simulators at the moment, because of their 20-50 million price range..
