Are you new to beading have you looked at seed beads online and felt like it was another language ? Well your not alone and its just the finishes that are most confusing there's really only 4 basic sizes and the larger the number the smaller the bead so starting with #15 the smallest #11 the most common #8 the inbetween and #6 the largest after that it is simply finding your size and figuring out which finish you like the best . The basic finishes are transparent , opaque, silver lined , color lined and then add a coating - aurora borealis , matte, are the most popular and the specialties are marble , Apollo, Picasso, luster, rococo, and baroque pearl its just the combinations that make it confusing once you learn the differences you will unlock the confusion and it will be easy to find what your looking for .
Time Stamps
:21 Basic Sizes
2:22 Bead Finishes
18:33 Grams vs Kilo
20:48 Delicas
23:28Cubes
27:46 Bugles
30:33 Drops
33:04 Magatomas
I have a lot more tutorials on my patreon page they are more detailed then my KZfaq ones if your interested here is the link

💖💜♥️💙 Thx for a thorough explanation of Eye Candy!🤩 I'm not a Beader but do have several colors and types of Seed Beads from when I used them in Crocheted Ornament Covers and general Clothing Embellishment. Now I sporadically use them in Jewelry and Resin projects. Beads are so versatile and the colors, styles and finishes make them hard to resist buying!!

Nice to see you here again. I miss you! I saw hematite beads in a store, and had to have them. Big mistake. They are beautiful, but they are magnetic/polarized. That means if you string them end to end, they have to have their poles aligned + - + -...or they will push away from each other. They also stick together while you are stringing them, and get all tangled. I have a whole bunch of size 17 opaque beads I inherited from my late aunt. How she ever saw the damned holes in them is beyond me! I figured out that you have to use a really tiny wire needle to string them, and a magnifying glass. They are in their original glass tube containers, with real cork stoppers.

Thanks so very much for the wonderful explanation of seed beads. I appreciate your taking the time to make this video. You are right, when buying online it can be very confusing. I bought galvanized beads only to find out after I had made several rings that the finish will wear off. Now they are just sitting in a bag waiting for me to take them apart or wear them until they turn. Either way the ring won't bring me the same joy it would have if I had know and bought the right bead to begin with.

This is good info. I had an older friend gift me her early collection of randoms as she progressed through her bead journey. Not bad beads by any means. She had just evolved/narrowed down (lol) to more specific niche of jewelry and this was just the random stuff she had collected over the years. It was overwhelming to say the least. Some cheap, some more from nicer sources, some salvage, some vintage salvage. I have my favorites. I think this video will help me organize them a bit better and go back through and identify some finishes and such. Thank you so much for sharing.

I've missed you so much! I've missed your detailed info and pretty jewelry making. I've watched many others, and so many of them don't know things; they even repeatedly say that they don't know. I say to my tablet; "Then you should've found out before you did the video." After a few of those types videos; I always unsubscribe. Please tell me that you're back. I've learned so much for you. I was so happy when I accidently found you, and I've been searching for someone to fill the void of you not having video's out, but I haven't. Thankx for the seed bead info; I was confused also.
