SeeD - Het Vergeten Volk (Official Music Video)

“Vergeten Volk” (“Forgotten People”) is both a lament and a ‘call to action’, written from the perspective of the forgotten creatures of myth and folklore. “Sing our tale, go and look for us. We will never be lost.” Although forgotten by mankind over time those creatures are still there, though not always visible in the realms of man. The song portrays the sorrow of losing one’s sense of belonging and becoming detached from the world, and invites the listener to retrieve the imagination and sense of wonder we all had as children, but may have lost along the way.
The story is told in Dutch, Irish and English - folklore transcends all language barriers.

My Dears, thank you so much for sharing this!!! One of the most beautiful yet sad songs ever, I love it! I still remember Waldkauz' Party in Cramme, where you played it live and I BEGGED you afterwards to release it - now my patient wait is finally rewarded. In the castlefest stream you said (and we all can imagine it) that you're struggeling right now. If there's anything we can do - please let us know! Most of it is translated in the song or the lyrics are visible in the clip. Which parts do you still struggle with?

The Dutch parts are: "Wij zijn hier" - we are here "Wij zijn overal" - we are everywhere "Gij zult oogsten wat ge zaait" - you shall reap what you sow ("Gij" being an old form for "jij", same for "ge" and "je") "Elf en trol" - elf and troll "Het vergeten volk" - the forgotten people "Wakend over huis en haard" - watching over home and hearth "Zing ons verhaal" - sing our tale "Ga op zoek naar ons" - look for us "Wij zullen nooit verloren gaan" - we shall never be forgotten "In de wind" - in the wind "In de waterval" - in the waterfall "In de schaduw van de maan" - in the shadow of the moon "Zonder naam" - nameless "Door de mist verhuld" - hidden by the mist "En vergeten door de tijd" - and forgotten by time "Een verhaal" - a story "Een herinnering" - a memory "Een lied voor wie zijn ogen sluit" - a song for those who close their eyes "Maar blind is hij" - but he is blind "Die de wereld kent" - who knows the world "En slechts droomt tot hij ontwaakt" - and only dreams until he wakes With some parts repeated in between as well!
