I am JEALOUS! I was born in one Caribbean country, married a girl from another Caribbean country, lived in both places for some time, and we now live in the USA. We have been to Ghana and Tanzania, and I have been to Liberia. Videos of almost anywhere in Africa make me HOMESICK and JEALOUS!!! It looks and feels and connects like HOME. First, Kenya is one of the few countries that uses a Christian (edit: many have clarified in the comments that is a Kenyan prayer) hymn as its national anthem. Which came as a surprise to me. Second, as one who is Indian in origin, the influence of India on Kenya was also quite surprising. Chapati, Samosa, Bhaji... I could not believe my ears when this Kenyan pastor's kids were referring to their food with Indian words. Turns out, we a lot more in common than meets the eye! We both love Kenya, and I hope to visit Kenya. Soon, I pray! Edit: Thanks to all who clarified that the Kenyan national anthem is not a Christian hymn, but rather a Kenyan prayer. But, it inspires, never the less.
