The Divide is a Great Pack, it carries loads comfortably and is extremely well-built. Here are a few things that might be helpful to some: 1) The lumbar pad works great in a backward position. Attach the pad on the back side of the belt so it rides between the belt and the pack. 2) I have an Expedition Bearikade riding vertically inside the pack with all my gear no problem. (Long food carry - Horsehoe Meadys to MTR on the JMT) 3) Take the time to adjust the torso height properly and check it with a full load out. It may take a few adjustments to get the fit just right but it is a mandatory step, you want a correct fit. You will be glad you did. For my build, with the belt attached to the frame using the first hole (from the factory), I could not lower the shoulder harness quite enough, it bottomed out against the strap loops sewn into the pack. After reattaching the belt to the frame using the holes at the end of the strap I was able to then dial in a perfect fit with the shoulder harness. So if you can't get a perfect fit simply by adjusting the shoulder harness height because it bottoms out, try the other set of holes in the belt attachment, it worked very well for me.

This was a helpful video in outlining captured vs floating etc. Question, when captured and without the lumbar pad... do you feel that buckle against your back at all?

Just to alert folks who haven't tried many packs - the ability to fine tune this system to your body is astounding and way in advance of the rest of the market. I make my own packs so am able to appreciate just how smart these guys have been. Good fit makes a major difference over a long day. Not the cheapest solution, but if you spend much time in the back country just go with Seek Outside - it's a smart investment. Short of a bespoke pack from Dan McHale at 3 times the price there is nothing to touch their system. Oh, and I am I the only one who thinks that this video looks like Gandalf instructing a hobbit? Or am I just a bad person?

What are the dimensions of this pack? Could it fit under an airplane seat or does the frame prevent that?

It would be nice to see you put about 50 pounds of weight in that pack as you demonstrate adjustments or 40 pounds or at least something. Pretending that the hip belt can be lightly cinched is not realistic after walking a few miles and sweating your packs tends to creep down. Also, demonstrating adjustments on the webbing through the buckles would be nice.

The center of your iliacs? Do you mean the center of the width of the pack hip belt should be resting at the top of the iliac crest or should it be between there and the greater trochanter of the femur, like where we wear our pants belts?
