A lot of people are commenting the same thing: “they added an option for smaller lobbies” I know, I mention this in the video, but at the time of upload, between Dev and Today I’ve played 100 matches with that switch enabled and never got a smaller game. I have since had several smaller games (assume more people are enabling the option) but even still it’s very rare and only ever 12v12. Still too large.

modern day air rb: -take off -couple people crash -get launched on -defend against missiles -recommit to 80% of the enemy/friendly team dead -giant furball ensues around one player -more people crash and teamkill -game ends

Also absolutely nothing changed in BVR aspect. People are using these as overpowered IR missiles or spam-shooting them like good`ol F-14. And you still cant have close fights due to being constantly 3rd partied, now with new toys that you cant flare even in theory.

Air needs a new game mode. 16 v 16 sucks and these super quick matches suck.

In my opinion they just dident think through some stuff like, some maps being absoulute hell due to the mountains or hills, or some planes like the swedish Grippen A not having any Fox 3 at 12.7 and having to grind 420k rp for the Grippen C, in my opinion the matches arent harder but just more annoying

im having fun grinding gripen c (which sweden should have had already) while dodging aim-120's , literally doing defending for first 5 minutes or flanking everyone to get into aim9m range

I've had 3 12v12 games with 5-6 hours playtime and honestly... I didn't even realize it until after I died and checked the scoreboard. It's playing basically the same so far.

Played around 15 games yesterday at 12.7 and my conclusion was this. Either they increase the 60m multipath back to something like 80m, or they really need to fix trees and valleys not being counted as terrain. There is literally no skill involved in surviving a match now, unless you wait "outside the map" for the two teams to murder each other and then come in and clean up the guys who won the lottery and survived. Almost impossible to dodge/flare/chaff everything that is thrown at you. It's prob realistic in many ways, but it's sure as hell not fun.

I honestly just like that while multipathing isn't completely gone, it's no longer the end-all be-all of missile defense

Sometimes when I'm in tws or hmd lock. The aim120 will lock but the seeker locks on to thin air and not the green square. Or it says it's locked but the seeker circle is invisible.

I am ok with reducing multipathing because I casually flies high in the past and have decent results. But I already have good results when I am high while most opponents are low, so I don't really see the reason why it is necessarily needed to be reduced. Also thinking of how painful the grind is, I would think it is better to keep multipathing at 100m especially with those ARH introduced. (I imagine haing only 2 SARH and 4 IR to fight 4+ ARH 2 IR carriers would be a absolute pain, and this loadout already requires like 25% modules unlocked) BTW the camo on F-15 does not paint on the CFT. I know it might be historical because demo teams don't take CFT in the air but I like the chubby look of the F-15C+CFT and the look of the camo is so wierd...

Not only is it 16v16 much of the time still, but they appear to have gotten rid of the larger "sim" maps from the map rotation.

The 60m multipath and a 10v10 would be awesome.

The main problem i see with potential 8v8 is the stock grinding. How are we supposed to get mods if we dont have any decent weapons or acceptable flight performance while facing 4-stacks of spaded f-15Cs? 8v8 should be a toggle so stock players could still have a chance to reach bases or attack distracted enemies.

We need air spawns at BVR alt and for the spawn points to be spread a long the width of the maps

Was the 9M nerfed or getting wonky, they don't seem to hit hard that much anymore, or people are learning to evade better.

Typically you have to support the missile until active, unless you maddog it.

Seek i want your thoughts, i really dont think lower player count matches are going to make the matches any funner because i feel like the matches will still boil down to teams that fold in 2 minutes with one or two players getting most of the kills with most dieing so quickly it becomes a back to hanger sim, that or one survivor drags out the match running and neither sound fun. I think this because a lot (not all) players dont know or care how to play top tier, its a prem... *ahem* player issue. I feel like if we went to 6v6 or 8v8 we'd need a game mode that focuses more on objectives with a good sized map, multiple airfields, and bringing in the vehicle line up system from ground RB so you can bring multiple planes in the given br to help keep the matches from lasting less that 5 minutes. I dont want an hour long match but some of the funnest matches ive had have been 20-30 minutes. This whole throwing planes at each other head on worked alright until we got planes this advanced and i really just think the game mode is being outgrown. If done correctly and with a large enough map i still think 16v16 could work, they just need more of an objective than "kill player" although that should obviously still be considered important. I know they probably couldn't/wouldn't pull this off, but I'd like to know your thoughts.

I am glad about the multipathing change. Haing half your arsenal made useless isn't fun. Most people still fly tpp low but it is somewhat better.

They need to do a dcs style where there is missions and your on a larger map with say 4 vs 6 4vs4 and have that realistic battle

Seek, you've got one problem with your loadout. You have the AIM-9Ms and AIM-120s the wrong way round on the pylons :) smallest missile on the outside :D i hear it gives them an extra 200mile range

My biggest problem with the multipathing change is that it makes aim 54s a pain to deal with. If you are not perfect with staying low to the ground and bleeding the energy of the missile then youre dead.

I was in a battle and saw a mirage get 5 kills in 10 seconds with MICAs at the start of the battle. It was over in 3 minutes after first contact

I need to comment this. Based on what I’ve seen today Im not sure if multi pathing stayed even the same if it would actually still work. Because in the past we’ve only seen multipathing with Fox 1 missiles like the aim7f-m and the Er1’s ect. Along with the Aim54 which was a bucket in terms of performance. My point though is that every single one of these missiles if you broke the (Planes) radar the with multipathing the missile would hit the ground because by themselves they can’t survive without the radar. But these fox 3s can. You can guide them right up to the guy no matter where the ground is and lets say they successfully notch the radar of the plane, well the missile doesn’t need it, it can guide itself for those last few seconds and snipe the plane. And I say this because side by side in the exact same scenario my aim7m (although better due to the reduced multipathing) still easily gets beaten by flying low, whereas although they beat my planes radar by diving low, the 120 still hits smack dab centre on the plane.

I think I shouldn't have changed multipathing spamraams is now complete chaos in RB in simulation mode perhaps this change is being positive but in air RB the gameplay is simply defined as getting up and firing the missiles and returning to base and reloading and doing it all over again

I'm not sick of people talking about the 16v16 issue, it has to be talked about until it is fixed. The 12v12 toggle should ensure you get a smaller match, not the 1% chance you get now. I wouldn't mind a slightly longer queue if that means i get to play a gamemode that better accommodates 4th gen aircraft

Multipath is good. If they made it even lower like irl it would be even better. But as you said the problem is team size, not really game mechanichs.

you only have 2 radio channels if they didnt change it so you cant fire more than 2 at time (j11 is 1) and tomcat is 6. correct me if im wrong.

I agree except for the idea that having multipathing as strong as it was was good for the game, it promoted another braindead tactic of everyone hugging the deck making radar missiles useless. if they raised 13.0 to 13.3 and gave planes 2 fox3s stock for example the change would have been a lot better.
