Seemingly Forever Timelapse

Seemingly Forever Timelapse

3 жыл бұрын

Enjoy this Dandelion Flower time lapse with soil cross section video showing how roots ant upper part of plant grows to seed head. It is about how to germinate and grow a Dandelion flower from seed.
It took over one year for a Dandelion planted from Seed to make Flowers.
This project took over one year to be completed.
But we achieved our Target.
Project is completed!
Dandelions don't have real stems. Their seedlings develop into a rosette of leaves on the soil's surface and produce flowers on hollow stalks. The flowers bloom about eight to 15 weeks after germination at the end of the seedling stage. Individual plants bloom continuously while active, but most profusely in May and June. A single flower produces up to 400 seeds, but averages 180. Seeds ripen from nine to 12 days after the flowers bloom.

Right. Exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention we don't let the yellow dandelions grow for a whole year, we mow them down every week, so how do they ever survive long enough to turn into the white ones? Something sketchy about dandelions 🤔

Dandelion's are one of my favorite flowers. They grow freely in my yard. @@PrimeCircuit Yes, some trees do ever so slowly move from their positions to new positions. I believe plants are alive in a similar manner as animals, they just have different "organs" and different methods of communication. Well, technically they are an invasive weed in the USA. However, I purposely leave my yard "weedy" because I hate having a large expanse of just grass. I like to see flowers and various interesting plants. This year I have something that looks like grass in a way but has pretty purple tiny flowers. I plan to attempt to identify it. Might even help them spread a little more since they are nice to look at.

@@seeminglyforever that doesn't make sense because according to your video the yellow ones turn into the white ones. How is it if we mow them down before the process is complete can they completely regrow the stalk, flower and seeds over the course of a night or two? That's like auto regeneration, if that's how they work how come no one has isolated what ever gene is in the dandelion that makes them grow like that and applied it to growing food? So many people are clueless. Dandelion is an amazing plant. It is there for a reason and its job is to improve the soil. We can use the entire plant to make coffee, teas, food and medicine. No part of this plant is toxic. The plant is not a weed. All plants growing where we don’t want them are weeds. This is an incredible plant. It has nectar and pollen and is able to reproduce without any help from pollinators. The dandelion is the first food of the year for hibernating insects when they wake in the spring. The dandelions only stay around for as long as it takes for them to repair the soil. Once its job is done, it will leave. You can’t fight them. They always win. It takes one tiny root left behind to regenerate the whole plant. Pick them, eat them and enjoy them. When the flower is done, they become a field of wishes for us all! Love these plants and care for them! Enjoy all they have to offer. It is the first flower a child will give you and that makes it magical all by itself.

I used to always pop the dandelion heads off because they were going to be cut down anyways. They were my favorite flower to play with I would always rub the yellow of the flower on paper an it would be really cool, and the stem I would always look inside and see like this white stuff and always try and rub it off and play with the stem. And I loved especially when they were all white and fuzzy! Me and my friends and brother always used to make a way in them or try and get all the seeds off first. Those were some of the best moments in summer :-) I respect flowers a lot more now cause I was little but I haven’t seen a dandelion in a couple years and I have very happy memories of them

I remember when i was like 10 or 11 me and my friend would always go out in the fields during our recess time to go look for "chubby dandelions" and bless them with snacks. It was around a kickball field and we would save them from the lawnmower guy. We would have some seaweed snacks for the dandelions as well. We found quite a few ladybugs in the field, and we sometimes ate snacks near the benches. Good times. Even though dandelions are hard to get off the lawns, they will always have a special place in my heart.

You can literally do this by just growing a dandelion and setting up a time lapse camera. It's really simple

Well, being outside will definitely help. Natural soil, direct sunlight, they're going to thrive.
