The x159 is one of my favourite writers. I love Herbin - Vert de Gris in it. Also, I find TWSBIs take FOREVER to finish due to their large capacity. But I get excited when I finish an ink. Haha. Your videos and insta is always so helpful and love hearing your thoughts.

I try not to fill them all the way. This time I only filled the Eco 1/3rd and I finished it yesterday. It is a stub so that helps too.

At $8, why not just bite the bullet and buy a Pilot Parallel immediately? Very fun. If you don't like the desk pen body, the Parallel nib unit screws directly into the barrel of a $20 Pilot Spare Sign Pen. Still a great value at $28.

Haha, yeah because I want to try them all. So I'm thinking of just getting the set.

What a beautiful selection of inks! 🤩 I love that you are using the Jinhao x159! I have one on the way and am excited to ink it up. I’m so excited to see your new pen! I have the Platinum Curidas and I first bought the dupe, a Lanbitou 3088. I liked the 3088 well enough that I invested in the Curidas. They perform almost exactly the same. Both dry out pretty quickly, between 1-2 days or quicker. The 3088 takes a standard international cartridge or converter. The color options are almost exactly alike. The build quality of the Curidas is maybe one step up, but both are a bit clunky with the click mechanism. The nib of the 3088 had a wetter flow than the Curidas (typical drier performance for Platinum.) Overall, if I had to do it over, I would have stuck with the 3088. I have never tried a Pilot VP or Decimo or any other quick pen. It’s such a treat to see you inking up so many of the samples at once, and it makes me want to ink up all the matchy matchy. 🤭 I think maybe instead I’ll ink up samples from you! Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋

I've heard from so many people that the Curidas as well as the A1 both dry out too fast, so I think, they are not suited for me at all. I guess, I'll remove them from my list in my next video. And yes, this was such a fun treat to use all the inks that I received from you. It's such a great palette!

I think you should make some sort of art with your left over ink I do this thing where if I have a ml or less I take an eyedropper and drop it onto some water color paper and then I take a water brush after its dry and smoosh it about sometimes I write words in it and it comes out really cool you should try it :)

Yeah, I probably could. I just don't want to trap myself in. By creating the expectation that every time I want to unink a pen, I would have to make art. What if I don't feel like making art? I easily fall into these traps and so having no expectation and being able to just rinse, feels good. Yeah, I might make some art one day. But I can also just choose not to.

My experience with the dialog cc and curidas is that they don't seal as good as the vanishing point. A fine nib, and something like Private Reserve Endless inks may significantly help with hard starts after pen is unused for a while.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It seems that these pens won't be suitable for my "fountain pen lifestyle" at the moment.

I have both an AL Kaweco Sport and the brass. I love both. The nibs are fantastic. The brass has a very smooth nib and can handle shimmer ink without issue. I’ve heard that can be the luck of the draw with Kaweco but all my nibs have been really good writers. The one note is that the brass pen is really heavy. I don’t mind the weight but of course that’s a personal consideration.

Thanks for letting me know. I feel the AL Sport to be so slippery? And now that I have it inked again, I just know it's not going to work for me.

I really enjoy my TWSBI 1.1 stub and I also lone my medium Platinum Curidas. Good idea ti get replacement nibs instead of getting rid of fountain pens if possible. Im sad that I missed out on the Kaweco AL Golden espresso. I'm really enjoying my Kaweco Bronze, even with the significant weight difference. You'll find the writing experience of the TWSBI Iris is way different from the Pilot Custom 823. Quick question what are the nibs are in play between the two (TWSBI & PC 823)? I look forward to your thoughts in June- July of your May/June selections.

Thanks so much, Lisa, I'm enjoying the 1.1 stub as well. I did find the writing experience quite different, of course, one is a gold nib and one is a gold nib. Both are medium nibs.

I tried both (CC and Curidas) and I don't like them. They had really hard starts and dried out really quickly. The VP/Decimo are my go to pens. The Kaweco Brass is really really heavy for long writing.

Ah, thanks so much for the feedback. I have heard so many similar things about those pens. I think, once I'm making the next update video, I'll remove them from my list. They don't seem to work for the way I use fountain pens now.

I can't wait to see your new pen! Now I'll be watching for the next video. Also, I'll repeat an earlier request. In the next video where you review these pairings, can you kindly say the ink names aloud at least once? As for tossing ink, I agree with you. While it can feel wasteful, when you empty the leftover ink into another container, you see what a tiny amount it is. If it's a rare or discontinued ink, it might be worth saving. Otherwise, sending it down the drain is a hassle-free option.

I really like seeing how you choose your pens and inks. I have a question, how many days/hours do your pens take to fully dry after cleaning to re-ink them? o:
@seemownay
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! Some pens seem to never fully dry, there is always some droplets left. If I clean out a pen and want to ink it up right away, I usually let it sit nib touching a paper towel over night and then ink it the next day.
