3:07 This is why you feel for Menelaus. He a pawn in Aphrodite and Paris's desecration of Marriage. If you remember Paris already had a wife, Oenone but that wasn't enough for him, and it wasn't enough to be deemed the most beautiful now Aphrodite is interfering with the dual to end the war by saving Paris when he lost fair and square.

Hera: You may destroy any of my favourite cities as long as Troy falls. Enter the Punic Wars: Carthage- A city favoured by Hera vs. Rome- Founded by Troy's descendants. Romans: So be it. First Punic War- Carthage was Humiliated. Second Punic War- Carthage was Defeated. Third Punic War- Carthage was Destroyed. Hera: (O.O)

Technically, the Arcadian hero, Evander, is considered, according to Roman mythology, the one who built the first settlement, the so called city of Pallantium on the future site of Palatine Hill, sixty years before the Trojan War, in the region that later will be built Rome, sixty years before the Trojan War. Evander was considered the one who instituted the festival of the Lupercalia. The name Lupercalia was believed in antiquity to evince some connection with the Ancient Greek festival of the Arcadian Lykaia, a wolf festival (Greek: λύκος, lýkos; Latin: lupus), and the worship of Lycaean Pan.

@@antonius.martinus I would also love to be included in this series, the scene of the encounter of Diomedes and Glaucus. It's one of the most beautiful scenes in Iliad, when Diomedes and Glaucus are ready to fight each other, Diomedes asked the other warrior's name, and when Glaucus revealed his name and his lineage from the great hero Bellerephon, Diomedes answered, "we cannot fight because your grandfather was guest of my own grandfather, so we are linked by the sacred law of hospitality". Diomedes and Glaucus then lowed their weapons, and they embraced, in the middle of the battlefield, exchanged gifts as symbol of friendship, and swear to never fight each other for the rest of their lives. It's one of the greatest moments which shows how honourable Diomedes was.

Jason's voyage happened long before Troy. As a young man, Nestor joined the Argonauts along with Castor & Pollux. At Troy, Nestor was the oldest and wisest. You can say that around 50 yrs had past. Illiad states that the twins were already dead by the time of Troy. And it makes sense. Were they alive, as princes of Sparta, one of them would have been king, instead of Menalaus, who is a foreigner from Mycenae.

Paris is nerfed to be only a clown and coward by many story teller. In original Iliad, although he is not bravest warrior, he is the one that proposed to duel with menelaus for ending the war and still be the best archer of Troy. He killed many greek warriors in war and fought in the front-line with his brother, Hector.
