The Dreamcast was such an awesome system.

Dreamcast is my all-time favorite console. I had almost every major game and accessory for it. I went all in for the system and i don't regret it one bit. Best memories to play Bass Fishing with my Father for days... he speak about it to this day how great it was.

DreamCast is one of my all time fave consoles ever. So many great games and emus to use on it. The first console to surpass better than arcade gfx. First game i played was day 1 sonic adventure, also code veronica is a classic in my opinion. Wicked upload Wicked. Now im off to play games and get hammered to see in 2024. I recently hooked up my old dreamcast, which worked perfectly back in the days. But 20 years later it struggled with reading game discs. Also took out my old xbox classic and the dvd rom was already dead. So the GDemu is currently the way to go (also i dont have any cd drives in my pc these days). Good video.

There are certainly some hidden gems on the Dreamcast, in recent years some indie titles developed for the Dreamcast started to appear and there are some Atomiswave homebrew ports.

PS1 then PS2 but my friend had Sega Dreamcast and it was marvelous system. 😉

The Problem the Dreamcast had was that SEGA only ever marginally advertised its Internet capability. If SEGA had gone full Throttle from the Start and Advertised the Internet capability more, i.e. put more Focus on it, the Dreamcast would have gone through the roof. Especially since it was the first Internet capable Console on the market.

That's crazy. I remember the GDEMU being like $6 in 2019. I thought, "eh, someday."

My first system that you can actually change the games (we had a pong box) was a Fairchild Channel F. Part of me wishes someone would make a mini version for modern TVs but I doubt there'd be a huge market for it. :D

Forget that. Use Flycast. You can play EVERY GAME in enhanced 4K, you can even play every game online like Quake 3 Arena or PSO. It's stunning!

I still have my original NES & SNES. But, I got out of gaming until about 10 years ago when and I got out my old systems and bought the ones I never had. N64, SDC, PS2, AES, etcetera. Right now I have my Fenrir equipped Saturn connected to my Sony PVM. I love retro gaming.

Playstation 1 and gameboy color were my first consoles, never had a sega, never knew they existed.

The reason there is no sound by certain games is that the are old iso's. Back in the day the DC games where to big for a standard CDR so thing where removed like music and FMV;s, later they downgraded that to make it all fit on a disc. Also it can be a loader problem, i remember that vaguely. Nooit een Dreamcast gehad, paar keer naast gegrepen, en staat hoog op me verlanglijstje alleen niet voor de hoge prijzen waar ze nu voor weg gaan.

Dreamcast was my favourite console and still regret selling it. I had it at the same time as the PS1. I still have my original X Box and recently bought a few games that I never got to play in the past..

Alright, super long comment story time! The first console my family had was NES. It was more my brother's, who is 3 years older. He let me play it sometimes but I was really young. The first one that was truly mine was the Sega Genesis. I played that thing a ton. Basically my parents would give all the Nintendo stuff to my brother and I would get the Sega stuff and we would share. I had a gamegear but the battery life was atrocious. Luckily my brother freely shared the gameboy with me. I played his SNES quite a bit as well but I truly loved the genesis. Fast forward a bit, I got a playstation in Junior High. My friends and I would get multiple playstations and tv's together and we would play Doom with the link cable, it was amazing. My parents bucked the sega trend and didn't get me a saturn, I don't remember why, my parents are super generous so I probably just didn't want it for whatever reason. In high school I had the dreamcast and and the N64 (my brother wasn't really playing video games at this point). Honestly I didn't play them a ton, mainly just Mario Kart 64, my friends and I loved that game. Unfortunately at that time I got addicted to Heroin (I know, it's crazy) and I ended up selling all my consoles for peanuts. Luckily I eventually got off the junk. But I still would like to one day own these consoles again. My last console was the ps2 which my girlfriend bought for me (she later became my wife and we have 2 children together). I played it a bit but it eventually got shelved and I stopped playing games. Fast forward to some years back and my friend suggested I get back into gaming to try BOTW. I followed his advice and got a switch and was hooked again. Over time I started to gravitate back to the games from my childhood, and now I'm here watching your videos and commenting my life story. my first system was a sega saturn someone gave me it was epic the game store i took it to get it fixed had 4 games that let me check out 1 at a time like a library they were very cool

I bought a Japan white Saturn modded sd cannot remember the name of mod now it plays all regions but I expected it being emulation that some games would have issues like not loading or here and there sound cutting out and then coming back but it's emulation so I expected it not to be 100 percent perfect I love it though considering how expensive original games for Saturn a pretty expensive

To me an HDMI mod is useless because the console needs a CRT to look good because the resolution looks so bad on a 4K TV. Increasing the native resolution to 4K with an emulator is a 10x nicer solution for a modern TV.

oof, looking at the prices for a modded unit, pretty brutal! I've got 2 of the older units that play burned discs still, hopefully this tech will get cheaper if and when the drives start to fail. I've got 4 OG XBOXes with dead DVD drives, hopefully we'll see a way to replace the optical drives in those rather than do a pain in the ass soft mod?

Get a sd card adapter so much easier or get Dreamcast with one already in and you don't need a package from China if it doesn't work you'll get the runaroud from China be warned
