As simple as this game is as far as variety, it's one of my favorite racing games of all time. Maybe it's the music or the simplicity of it however if you look into the making they did alot of research to make it. There is just something about dude... Great vid!

The Netlink edition has a smoother frame rate.

What we really need is someone to come along and take the REAL ORIGNAL Daytona USA and fix it all up as best it can be, and add netlink to it... This game might be called Daytona, but it sure as hell didn't play anything like Daytona.

They look about the same to me but Netlink edition does have better draw distance, that was pretty noticeable.

Yup. Much better fps (can't really tell here as it's actually uploaded at 30fps) but there is also more animation in the netlink. The mountain isn't even in the championship edition

Not alot of people have done research on it because of how few people have ever owned the Netlink edition. However as someone who has had all 3 US releases plus the later Japanese release, ive always said the US Netlink version is truly a 4th and final Daytona release on the system. Basically i think they took the final JPN release , aka CCE+ and added the netlink feature. So it makes the netlink version truly the definitive Saturn release. Because of how it was marketed (mail away only) and how ridiculously hard to find it is nowadays, its unfortunately not considered when people compared the first two releases on the Saturn. Its a shame because the Netlink is the best version of a great racer. I was lucky enough to be apart of a Netlink league in the mid 2000s where a bunch of us got to actually play this online. I still paid alot for my copy way back when but now it feels like pennies on the dollar. Netlink will always quietly remain the best home version because generally the few copies that even exist are with collectors who wont even play it

Your absolutely right Jon, I'm definitely seeing a difference. The netlink edition definitely looks a lot smoother than the championship edition.

Championships Edition is the one that's incredibly rare right? I've never played them all so I'm really interested in which one is the best. I know that the original version is the worst and that the later ones are much better.

After watching the video it seems pretty clear that the Champion edition is running faster and at a faster frame rate. It loads faster and the time moves faster.

@EatingCtrlV loading was actually split so I could sync the audio. The netlink edition runs at a higher frame rate and is the more rare one. Championship edition is pretty common
