Welcome to the final episode in our 4000km overland family adventure series!
In this episode we reach our final goal of the trip, the deserts of Spain and reflect on such an awesome trip in our legendary long distance SX10 Side by side.
We would like to give the hugest, heartfelt thanks to Segway Powersports for making this project a reality and a complete success.
Whatever Segway product you own, we hope we have inspired you to go out and find your trip of a lifetime.
My name is Dave and this is the fifth episode of our epic 8 part, 4000KM Overland family adventure with my fiancee, Maria and our pet dog Taksimo as we travel in our personal Segway Powersports SX10 X Side-by-side off road vehicle chasing the best trails Western Europe has to offer.

This family trip follows a mix of legal highways and gravel routes across Europe that are open to the public for use with off-road vehicles. As such all speed limits and safety regulations were followed to ensure the safety of the public and ourselves.

Spain kinda looks like my neighborhood here in the Wild West. I'm still breaking my Villain in at the moment-- Getting a feel for how it handles. I've always been a 5-speed sportscar guy. I'm getting used to this CVT and how a high-clearance vehicle handles. So far, super fun! I've gone places I've never been able to go before in the truck. I've floated over washboards and rocks that I used to avoid. I love the smooth straights, giving it a bit of juice in 2wd and feeling it kick-out as I feel the dirt give and the tires spin. The slow rocky stuff I used to hate is now just a series of little puzzles as I pick my way around obstacles. As for your road trip, I'm thinking you'd have had it easier in the Fugleman what with all the storage, and that thing is almost as capable as the Villain.

Hi! Thanks for letting us know about your experience. Sounds like you live in an amazing place to own a side by side. Glad you are adapting to the CVT transmission as it quite different to a manual in its pursuit of optimum torque at any speed. Also for sure the Fugleman is super capable and the third seat is really useful! For long duration driving though for me the villain is so comfortable, much like a good quality sports car in seating position. To be fair both vehicles are ideal for it

It’s an inspiring trip. Thanks for sharing with us. I am from Brazil and I’m planning to do a trip around Europe starting from Portugal. How could I have more information about SSV/UTV driving rules and Segway Motorsports vehicles to such a journey?

Hello Mau! That sounds like a very cool trip! In theory a legally registered vehicle can make the trip, perhaps there is a renatl agency in Portugal that can support such a trip, many thanks
