My name is Dave and this is the start of an epic 8 part, 4000KM Overland family adventure with my fiancee, Maria and our pet dog Taksimo as we travel in our personal Segway Powersports SX10 X Side-by-side off road vehicle chasing the best trails Western Europe has to offer.
In Episode 1 we begin our trip in the stunning Dolomite mountains of Italy, check out the details of our special vehicle modifications for our trip.

As the Global Marketing agent for Segway Powersports I wanted to test the viability of my own personal SX10 vehicle as a comfortable, long distance travel machine and I was not dissapointed!
Join us on our European family adventure where we get to experience the back roads and trails of these beautiful Countries and experience there rich and historic culture.
This family trip follows a mix of legal highways and gravel routes across Europe that are open to the public for use with off-road vehicles. As such all speed limits and safety regulations were followed to ensure the safety of the public and ourselves.

Great trip! How did you manage to stay road legal in all these countries, have you had some special license plate? Looking to do something similar with my Polaris General.

Hi Dancri1977! As far as we were able we obeyed the traffic rules pertaining to Agricultural vehicles in each Country and had European insurance cover. For the vehicle it is in the EU T1 class so is identical in all EU Countries. Agricultural vehicles fall into a bit of a grey area for crossing EU Countries so it is important to be mindful of this and ensure you have all of the correct registration documents in your name and correct insurance cover. Sounds like a great trip for a General!

Thanks! We applied Dynamat to the rear bulkhead and floor pan, We always wear high quality motorcycle ear plugs inside our helmets too! A must for all UTVs and side by sides

@@sidebysideadventurestours1888 Sorry didn't get any photos but essentially took the seats out, lossened the floor panels and tunnel and slid it in and peeled the backing off, we removed the harnesses and battery and then removed the 2 bulkead panels and then stuck it all over those before reinstalling, the panels unclip super easy as they are mainly held in with the little plastic split pins and there are only a few allen bolts around, can be done in about an hour

What sort of MPG were you able to get?

Hi! Anecdotally we were pushing 19 Imperial gallons (bigger than US) on the road sections. For the offroad sections later in the series down to around 14 when driving hard, hope that helps!
