David from the atory of David and Goliath was a psalmist. He aslo played the lyre. It is the grandfather of the harp and comes from the beginning of history as we know it. Enjoy the sounds!

I built my grandaughter a 19 string "Irish lap harp", (but really not lap friendly) and she has been taking lessons , and enjoying the harp, for 2 years. But I would like to make a more portable , "simpler" instrument, which she can integrate with her harp skils. What harp do you play ? I think I could make it! But maybe with a few more strings? You have wisdom and beauty ! Paul

Try to imagine how calming the sound of the Lyre Harp was to the sheep grazing in the fields before David was Anointed by God to become the King of Israel not only that but King David enjoyed making musical instruments he even made the Harp which as a boy he even played to King Saul to soothe his troubled soul who later tried to extinguish his life after he slew Goliath with just one stone in his Sling truly he has left a Legacy behind that soothes troubled soul’s just like Jesus Christ who left the Living Gospel of Christ for all the World and be Baptised in the name of Father the Son and the Holy Spirit amen 🙏

It is true that King David is the most preeminent musician in the Bible, playing the lyre (and not the harp, as medieval scholars falsely translated later on) and having many similar outstanding musical abilities with Orpheus, like soothing the beasts with his music, bringing peace to a human's soul, et cetera. It is amazing how the ancient lyre managed to survive through the millennia and through many different cultures and religions as the means to heal humanity. I bought a cheap lyre on a whim because I made a tabletop rpg character who plays and sings. I can sing, but I look forward to learning the lyre so I can play during sessions, too.

Hello, greetings from Turkey. Unfortunately, harp lessons are not given in our country and harp instruments are difficult to find. I want a lyre harp and cannot find one. I want to play the harp like you. When I look at it from afar, I get so excited that I feel sad. I hope I can find a harp.

It is better than none! :) But, if you want a proper musical instrument, the one that will make everything easier and help you love the lyre as you should, then try to find a luthier who can be there for you. A great option is the LUTHIEROS team based in Greece, with an immaculate reputation so far and amazing lyres that will serve you for decades.
