I finally got one a little over 1 month ago, after over a decade of lusting for one. Mine's a 2005 SBBN007 in really good condition (a little nicer than yours), but it cost me almost $900!! Even today the majority of these older models will have to be ordered from a seller in Japan. For just over 1 month, it's running exactly +1 second. Such an amazing watch! And this 007 model is my favorite of the Tunas due to the steel bezel insert, crop circles around the markers, white/silver day/date wheels, border around the day/date window, smaller Seiko and Professional script, and it doesn't say 'Marinemaster', which clutters the dial, imo. 👍❤

Debating on getting a brushed handset and black bezel insert for mine. I have the Darth SBBN013 and this one is still my favorite of the two. I love the crop circles most of all!

The insert replacement is pretty easy and reversible. I never thought about replacing the hands - kind of tempting now that I think about it.

When enthusiasts started calling shrouded Seikos “Tuna”? From which model?

Not sure, possibly around the time that western collectors discovered the sbbn007. Mid to late 2000s?
