Very cool story and watch. I recently bought the same model with a nice dial but rough case, I luckily found a case and bezel in nice order a week later. I had a NOS crystal in my collection, and now happily own a stunning 6139. I just found a near mint Pulsations case, so am now on another search! 😄

I had the same problem. There is a inner metal ring, the chapter ring goes underneath that ring. If you install it over that metal ring it will be loose and never will be able to fit on the dial.

I have a Seiko 6139 6012 which looks virtually identical. I would speculate that said that maybe the parts you received might have been for my model? Maybe there are some subtle differences so whilst they look the same they may not fit together perfectly? Just a guess.....

Nice watch! Does ur "Blues" Lee have 2-digit code printed or etched on its rear dial that matches the back cace #?

Thanks. I haven’t detached the dial from the movement, so I’m not sure.

Where did you get your replacement cryatal btw? I've tried a couple that are slightly off as part of my 6139-6015 restoration :)

Need to double check, but I think it was from seikosis on eBay.
