Quite a statement from Seiko. Because I don't quite have the wrist for it, it won't be in my watch box but for a big wristed man, a compelling choice. Big fan of Ti to offset weight of bigger watches. Seiko really shows their talent in this watch. Agree, GS stature. Gorgeous watch.

I own the SBDB037 LE variant (black case/dial, rubber strap) of this watch and it's amazing. Worth every penny and like most Seiko watches, even though the case is larger, it's still a VERY comfortable wear if your wrist isn't smaller. Awesome review, Rob!

Awesome review! I have the SNR033 (the blue GMT version) and really love it. I travel between Europe and the United States quite often, and find it to be the perfect travel watch. Spring drive accuracy is great, lume lasts the whole flight, fit and finish is beautiful; and because it “only” says seiko on the dial, I don’t worry about getting targeted by thieves. LX line are great watches, especially if you can pick them up on a discount.

Fantastic watch for someone with a wrist large enough to enjoy it.

If they only made the LX series in smaller sizes I’d be all over them

at 4:12 I saw some play in the bezel but is normal in japanese dive bezel construction. If you pop open a seiko bezel you will find that they have several levers instead of a ratcheting system. They are made that way to prevent sand and other stuff to get the bezel stuck. The space between each lever equals the play.

This watch is a killer. My own Seiko SNR041 comparing to Rolex Sea Dweller is a hand down winner. Only Omega Ploprofe is as original as the LX series. Forget Cermit, Sturbucks or Hulk. Thanks to Ken Okuyama. It's a stand out watch. and yes, it's a SEIKO.

I really really really really really really wish SEIKO make the Prospex Diver Watch with glass case back, like the Omega Seamaster.

Hey Rob, nice video. Only one box it doesn't tick, the CLASP. This clasp needs to change especially at this price point. Some people don't mid the power reserve on the dial, but I really don't like it being there. It makes the dial look busy and it messes with the beauty of this dial texture.

Beautiful watch, recently got a baby marine boutique edition a little smaller but definitely an eye catcher! does seiko produces these lx models in smaller versions with spring drive included? cause that'd be great!

Lovely piece, a bit too similar to the MM300 to find a place in my collection though. I wish they would put Spring Drive in more of their case shapes though.

I owned three LX watches but let them go due to change in size taste as I like 40mm now however, LX and SLA lines are best options for sports watches and may I say better than GS diver offerings

I think grade 2 is pure to titanium (cheap). The higher number grade 5 is a to mix of Ti and other metals. It's more expensive, more scratch resistant and easier to polish.

Nice looking watch but up against some strong competition at that price. How’s the bracelet? How are the links connected? Screw pins or the typical Seiko pins? The clasp at least the top piece looks kind of cheap and way out of place on a $6k watch. The bracelet and clasp should match the quality of the watch.

I would take an LX diver over a GS diver all day. I think the LX design (for purpose) is just much better. Like on Rob's review a day previously, I've seen quite a few Grand Seiko divers with bezel misalignments - it's so disappointing for a diving watch (at any price)....... For me, the only GS diver design "that worked" were the quartz models that Seiko introduced a few years ago.

Nice, but expensive. Don't quite get it -- if you're gonna price it like a GS, why not sell it as a GS? Yes, a MM was also expensive and not labeled as a GS, but at least it was about a third of what this costs (at least as of quite a few years ago, which was the last time I was aware of its pricing).

I'm sure it's great, maybe even better than my Omega... Actually its probably better. But at the end of the day, it's the same brand on the dial that makes $70 watches you find at the local jewellers. Just couldn't do it. Seiko need to differentiate themselves.

Rob Titanium is not a reason for such huge price,Citizen have ten times better and harder super duratec titanium yet their watches are priced reasonably!! Spring drive should be only in GS!!

This thickness is absolutely pointless. There are 12mm thick watches with the same water resistance. Moreover, the bracelet and especially the clasp are way too thick and coarse. What's the problem to procuce the same design watch with much more finesse?

There's too much bulk on this one. The case is too thick and same can be said of the clasp. I wish Seiko would figure that out. So many of their watches are too thick. They win on design but thickness just ruins it. Fourteen is about as thick as I would go, anything more and I just can't accept it.
