Selecting a GC Inlet Liner

Proper sample transfer from your inlet to your column is a critical component of a good gas chromatographic separation. There are many factors that play a role in that sample transfer, and perhaps the first of those is selecting the best liner. how would you reccomend the liners be deactivated if you cant replace them each time?

The first step would be to clean them carefully and see if that restores performance. You can find a procedure here: www.restek.com/frequently-asked-questions-faqs/frequently-asked-questions-GC-accessories/#sec06 You can try using reagents like DMDCS www.restek.com/products/reference-standards/Test-Mixes/GC/41112/ but that type of “pinpoint” deactivation is generally not as comprehensive as a polymeric deactivation. Restek and some other companies also offer liner re-deactivation as a service as well.
