This video addresses some factors to consider when selecting an appropriately sized wood stove or wood burning fireplace insert for your heating needs. Typical unit sizes, clearances to combustibles, area heated, burn time, and wood consumption are addressed via real-world data and experience with the various wood burning units with which we have experience.
It's nearly impossible to make a tried and true recommendation, as every home and every situation is different, but some key factors to consider include:
-Home insulation quality/air tightness
-Room size
-Air circulation in the home
-Heated volume (more than heated area)
-Desired burn time (overnight or not)
