By focusing on a single empire you give us a place to stand and observe this amazing, confusing period. Thank you

Exciting stuff! I appreciate the dedication to presenting a more obscure but fascinating topic as the Seleucid Empire in a very digestible fashion, and for listing your sources of course. Excited to see more! Especially on the side of economic/social history with the culture of the hellenistic world and building projects.

I just got super lucky that the algorythem suggest your first Video to me. So other history geeks might get this recommendation aswell. Credit to Antiochus I Soter for not letting the empire implode after Seleucus's death.

I don't know if you are familiar with the story but it ultimately comes from the ancient writer Lucian. I discovered it by way of opera plots as it was the subject of a very popular comic opera called "Stratonice" by Etienne Mehul -a major Napoleonic era French composer. Antigonus Soter the son of Seleucus is pining away and no one knows the cause as he has no physical symptoms. However an astute physician called Erastitratus (who was a real historical character) notices that the young prince seems to go to pieces when his glamorous step mother Stratonice enters the room. Eventually the good doctor manages to extract the truth from the reluctant prince who finally admits he is madly in love with his step mother and eventually this information is conveyed to his father the king who generously gives up his young wife (I presume he had others) to his lovesick son!

Sorry! I made my comment before I went on to view your video where of course you mention the story. Unfortunately I do this sometimes. Begging your pardon!

Rally enjoying these Selucid videos. Keep it up! If I were to offer some feedback: The positives: -I like your choice of music, its nice, relaxing and feels fitting for the subject. -The direct quotes from primary sources is great and adds a layer of "realness" that is often lacking in the history niche. More of that! (Cont)

Potential to improve: -Others might disagree with me here but I feel a map and a bunch of images are unnecessary. IMO this kinda stuff only works for bigger channels like K&G and History Marche who can afford do it high quality and lots of visual distraction. But I understand that no visuals would be boring, so maybe a simple, clean map of The empire and its surroundings + occasional bust of a character when possible would be enough? - I think it would be a good idea if you spoke just a tiny bit slower and slightly deeper, otherwise I have no complaints about the narration.
