Success is psychological - our brain determines whether we are successful or failures, even in sport which is predominantly seen as a display of physical prowess. Inspirational Danielle truly believes that strength of character has an important role to play in everybody’s journey to success, regardless of the field.
Danielle Brown is a double Paralympic gold medallist in archery and three time World Champion. She also won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where she was the first disabled athlete to represent England in an able-bodied discipline. Currently Danielle holds all 12 Paralympic world records, and was ranked world number 1 for her entire career. Whilst competing at a world class level Danielle also attained a first class law degree. Danielle achieved heights that others didn’t even realise were possible until she did it, setting the standards for others and proving that disability is no bar to achieving.

Great talk about what is essentially Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I would make these observations: For some people, the problem is the opposite. They have positive self talk that isn't backed by ability or performance. They are certain they are clever, capable or talented when, objectively, they are not. Self assessment needs to be measured against some kind of objective standard. My other observation is that Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) evolved from CBT but does not require us to 'rescript'. This makes it much easier to learn and to master. It is also arguably more effective because we are not engaged in self bullying to end our self bullying.

Sucess is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts (some bloke called Churchill)

This speech has one problem. It is in the core principle. It assumes egocentrically that you "need" success. I have asked myself a question: Is success something to strive for? Is life worth living? Do conscious species have right to live in self continuing misery?
