Let's understand this. They mark up the prices and makes you do the work. Top it off they took away jobs. Still raise the prices. People are stealing left and right while you are expected to know how to weigh the damn fruits. 20 minutes later....ah, help? The system is down.

Former Walmart employee. A regular line means they have to hire an employee and they have to use a cash drawer. Self checkout eliminates both these hassles. In our Walmart store, no more than 2 real registers are actually open and the rest are self. Of those self ones, only 2 will take cash. Taking cash means someone has to count a drawer of money at least twice in a shift. They only have those few open bcs employees are too lazy (or maybe not smart enough) to accurately to count money. They’d rather you use a card, check yourself out and exit without bothering them. After all, they’re usually busy talking on FaceTime to a friend instead of actually working…

the self checkout has cameras, i've never taken one item from it and have been using it for years. I like it so i can verify i get the sale at krogers mostly, also the baggers in the regular line send me home with 20 bags doubling most items, putting detergent jug and milk jug in double bags as i tell them don't do it, they look at me like i'm crazy and do it anyways, i will do it myself and come home with correct sale price, most times and 2 bags instead of 20

I love self check out. I don’t like people standing so close to me, breathing all down my back, and rushing to put their stuff on the belt.

My local Walmart just removed all of the cashier lines and replaced them with lots more self check out registers. : (

If l don't have a choice..then l will spend my money elsewhere. I do not like self check out. Plain and simple

Just get your groceries delivered, you get it picked, checked out, and delivered for you, all for about $10 a month, win win, no theft.

As someone who works night shift that gets off at 7am, sometimes I go to the store to get a couple of items in which case self checkout if fine. But other times I’m doing a rather large haul and self checkout is incredibly inconvenient. The station doesn’t have enough room for all of my items and that’s frustrating. I’d rather go through a normal sized cashier line. But like 95% of the time they don’t have anyone doing that until later in the morning

I don't use these things anymore. The machine is always broken and I have to call someone to help me anyways. I'd rather go to a human being who will bag my groceries and there are no mistakes. Way too many people steal from these things and I've seen it. They pretend to scan a ton of items and just walk out with only paying for 2 items. It's not worth it.

Many stores if not all have a hard time finding cashier employees. I go to different grocery stores and same thing. Only 2 registeres are open and lines are long

Sorry I don't work for these stores so I always go through a cashier. The only way I would even try self check out is if you give me say 20% off my total bill. Other than that as I say I don't work for the store and they need to do the work for my business...

If they’re eliminating jobs by adding more of these self check out kiosks while still raising prices on the consumer, maybe they deserve the increase in theft. It’s karma!

I will bag my own stuff and check it out if the lower prices by 50%. Why should I pay a lot and do the work for free! No thanks! Its called customer service. Its called self check as in service yourself. Sure I don't mind if its cheaper but prices are the same.
