If BTBAM needed my car, I'd give them my car. If BTBAM needed my home, I'd give them my home. What they have contributed to the musical world and what they have contributed to my life is immeasurable. I met Paul and Tommy after a show in Hollywood circa 2008, and I was a dumb stoner kid that asked them about the meaning behind Lost Perfections A & B, and they were still so nice about it. My friends and I saw Tommy in a Barnes and Noble at a different show in Hollywood, and we chose not to speak with him because he appeared to be in an argument with his girlfriend at the time. This is all to say that they are my favorite band of all time, I love them dearly, and I take every chance I get to spread them to others. "This music will not be easy to digest but if it ever clicks with you, it will be the best thing, musically, to ever happen to you."

That last quote is beautiful man. I’m beginning to click with their music and I have to say that you are absolutely right. Thank you for sharing that story.

For me I can't get into much past the silent circus but having said that those first two albums have had the same effect on me. I have known about BTBAM since before they were even signed to Lifeforce and still just had a demo and I even then I instantly knew these guys were special. Better than From Here on and Prayer for Cleansing even.

Dude, I feel ya. I've been a fan since Silent Circus (not looking for cred, it's just been a long time) and I fanboi'd out on Dustie at the PRS booth at NAMM one year. I felt like such a dope and even weirder is that these guys are like my age. My peers almost. Aren't you supposed to be in awe of old rockstars? JK They're fuckin awesome.

During some random night back in late 08 or early 09, surfing old KZfaq as a kid, I discovered this song. Never heard BTBAM before this, never even really heard too much prog metal to begin with because my choice of music at that age mostly revolved around alt metal, nu metal, some thrash metal and metalcore. This opened my mind up to a completely new world and I still credit the guitar solo at the end for setting the bar for all other guitar solos for me. On that note, Paul seemed just a little bit off while playing that solo. Still great playing from him, and still a great performance from all of the band. On my bucket list to watch them live on stage one day.
@victorerickson97703 жыл бұрын
Definitely go if you get the chance, they are absolutely amazing live. I usually hear Tommy say about 12 words that aren't lyrics. They go on, stuff their entire set with flawless performance, and leave. I love seeing them and go every time they are near by.

I moved from NZ to USA in 2005. I got cable and found the metal channel. NZ had nothing like USA available. So I hear this song, thinking it's a Norwegian death metal band. Loved it. I brought Alaska cd. Anyway we eventually divorced and I decided to move back to NZ. Then I moved to Australia. It was there I learned they were from Charlotte NC where I lived for 5 years. Anyway, I saw them at a concert in Adelaide. And Tommy and Paul and Blake and Dusty were all awesome. Bassist was a little standoffish but he was still cool. We talked for about 15 minutes I think. They hired a van or two carry their equipment. Love em

Personally, I get Dusty's burnout. I was in a band with a song that stuck around forever and kind of became our "hit". Every show we played people would ask us to play it. After 4 years of playing that particular song, I ended up hating it simply because I had played it so many times. Wasn't a bad song, just got burned out on it.
