I had a failed epidural and she was sunny side up and stuck they wouldn't let me try different positions and the nurse kept telling to stop screaming cuz I had the epidural. She refused to believe me. Turns out it was pinched in my spine and I never got the medication. I had a night nurse check my back after birth and I had a horrible bruise. My daughter was stuck for 2 hrs while they discussed a c section which I didn't want cuz they were insistent that I had an epidural meantime I felt everything and she broke my tail bone and nearly shattered my pelvis. Her head was swollen and measured 14 cm huge head ,sunny up baby ,and cruel nurse, and inexperienced Dr. And an anesthesiologist who was pissed off and trying to leave his shift. It was the worst unimaginable experience ever.

Had a horrible experience myself with my last baby, and like yourself an epidural with a previous birth didn't work. Sadly surrogacy is like a business deal. The surrogate gets paid for carrying the baby using her womb for rent. Biologically the child is not hers which maybe the reason they take the child away at birth to avoid attachment with the baby which can happen. They should be treated with empathy, support and respect at all times & the parents should be there for the delivery to nurture their baby from the onset. In these case the surrogates are exploited and the babies kept waiting which seems so inhumane. Here in England everything has to be done legally through solicitors. Also the surrogates are vetted to ensure they are mentally stable & not vulnerable or exploited to do this. Both parties must be happy and willing before signing the contract. The surrogates medical & family history is checked thoroughly so she will be refused even if she is fertile. All this costs a lot of money which is why maybe parents desperate for a baby go for the cheaper illegal route.

I experienced that. I gave birth at a public hospital in my country and the midwives and doctors aren't really big fans of screaming women giving birth. 😅 also, what i saw on watching birthing stuff when i was preggo was that screaming makes it more difficult to give birth cuz the pressure you need when pushing the baby out lessens cuz you use your strength screaming.. So i just followed what they said and my delivery was only 10 minutes. It was a breeze if you just do what they say mostly.

@@noelakn that has nothing to do with the video.. a sperm isn't an embyo. An egg is not an embryo. Also in sperm is less valuable than a womans egg. Surrogacy isn't a problem. The issue is how there are no clear boundries and laws that can protect these vulnerable women. And if you watched this video, and any other documentaries on this topic, you'll realize its always in economically poor countries, where improvised women are coerced by family members or circumstance to sign up. Edit: its not equality.. the social and economic background of these women and you, or these women and the paying parents are not "equal" Exploiting the poor to use their womb for a measly amount of money, with no talks of post partum compensation if there are any psychological or phyical compensation is not "equality". I doubt its even informed consent. I wonder if these women are even given knowledge of all the complications they may have afterwards.

No sympathy for her not being able to connect with a baby she willingly chose to give up for a couple. But her being treated like crap in the hospital is wrong though.

The director 100% knew that the surrogates have an emotional attachment to the baby. Doesn’t take a body language expert to see how she was lying through her teeth as she said that they have no attachment.

L&D RN here. That technique is called fundal pressure and is not standard of practice at least in the States. I only knew 2 OBGYNs in my 7 years of practice known to do it. It can cause the uterus to invert (rare), bigger perineal lacerations, and even uterine rupture. It is definitely an archaic practice, along many other obstetric violence male doctors have done to women over the decades like twilight births, instrument births and more..

My mother was pregnant with me in France and the reason why she flew back home to Scotland to give birth was because of this crazy pushing the belly procedure she’d heard about, it happened to her sister in-law when she gave birth in France so it put my mum off. That was in the 90s.

All hers and the father's? No blended families, adoptions? Any multiples? That's a lot of kids. Takes a village to raise them. Not for everyone but I'm happy they have a good home.
