Exactly. I live in the UK and they'll only give you this if you've already got type 2 diabetes but I thought prevention was better than the cure? Obesity is the 2 second biggest cause of death outside of smoking ad yet even though obesity is apparently costing the NHS "£6 billion annually" this drug is just for the people who are already in trouble at the moment.

It’s not easy I just realized I’ve gotten too big again so rather than buying a new shirt size or pants size I started fasting and cut out all junk food sugar pop etc. more cardio. I had a gastric sleeve in 2016 and was very successful. I had a lower bmi so I went to Mexico for the surgery. So glad I did the service was incredible. Fast forward to 2020. I actually did not regain in 2020. It happened towards the end of 2021 and slowly kept up. I just turned 50 so lots of that was menopause related. I was having serious hot flashes unless I was fasting. The hot flashes vanished with fasting. During this period of time it became incredibly difficult to take the weight off even with whole foods. I've been a Thomas folkower for the past 7 years so I had nailed my diet and knew what worked. I started a semaglutide compound as a self pay August 10th, 2022 and it was miraculous. I am planning to take this forever at a maintenance dose. It also has increased my memory ten fold. I feel unstoppable. My body composition also changed for the better in a way weight-loss and exercise did not give me in the past. My doctor said he only has success stories.

Good info. I have an incredible amount of info on this. Real quick summary. Retired bodybuilder at the pro level that still trains. Developed Type 2 from multiple reasons. Brutal getting my A1C down. Couldn’t get past 9 with insulin and a solid diet. Started trulicity and it got it down into the 5s. Doc was in shock. My resting pulse started to be higher, so we switched after a year to Rybelsus. My A1C is floating in the low 6s now. Trulicity definitely worked for A1C. Body fat is probably around 12 percent. I eat a bit more don’t like getting too lean for my training. Joints hurt at my age from the weights if too lean. 2 years on this now. Hope this helps some people.

I’ve been on Mounjaro for about 4 months now…I’ve lost 26 lbs. up to that I had tried it all. Keto even stopped working for weight loss for me. It’s strange because I stalled on MJ, but stopped working out and started loosing again. It’s just not black and white for everyone. This med has taken away entirely my sweet tooth. I started Ozempic over a year ago to bring down my blood sugar. My A1C came down (from 11 to 7) but I didn’t lose any weight. Once they bumped me up to 1mg injection, I started losing a modest amount of weight but what DID happen was I lost so much muscle mass, I was basically a limp noodle and had to go through physical therapy to get some muscle back. No one told me I had to eat more protein. Or Ihad to work out more. Walking isn’t cutting it.

I’ve been on Mounjaro three months and lost 23 lbs. My blood sugar is much better. During this third month I’ve noticed I’ve lost cravings for foods even that I used to love. I feel full a long time after I eat. The draw back is that while I’ve always been very regular with bowl movements I sometimes go several days before having one which can make you feel bloated, etc. I take a scoop of fiber every morning and I’ve included a tbsp of Miralax, plus increasing my water which seems to be helping with regularity. I work out lifting weights with a little cardio five days a week now as well. I’m really excited about getting healthy and this medication has really helped.

I'm on Semaglutidefor about a month now and am just on the .25 dose. 15 pounds down. I had a few days of nausea from the first two injections but none since. I'm going up to .5 next week. I've made my schedule for the gym, incorporating new diet strategies as well even though I wasn't bad in the first place, but I find that things that I did enjoy, I can't go near now. If I can hit my goal I plan on staying on it for a year to two to really make some lifestyle changes stick, then ease off and see what happens. I also have lipedema, and to my once very athletic and active self, it's an insult. I'm finding that very few people know or understand the condition or give more than a nod to it unless they actually struggle with it themselves.

I was very motivated to achieve a healthy blood sugar and went low carb which not only lowered my a1c but also had a positive effect on other organs and bodyfat. Initially there is withdrawal from sugars and carbs but it was easier than the pain of the drugs and the scary consequences of the disease. In that sense it was easy. Also after getting past that withdrawal period, the carb cravings lessen. Same here, had a hysterectomy and I'm not young anymore. Always struggled with weight and a low metabolism, but after the hysterectomy it got so much worse. I had been on keto for a couple years, don't eat sweets and keep my carbs down (not much of a sweet eater anyway). Only eat once a day and keep that to regular portions. I eat less a day than "skinny" people typically eat. Go to the gym typically 4 to 5 days a week and do strength and cardio workouts. Couldn't drop the extra weight. Started the injections and have been losing weight. I've changed NOTHING else. I still go to the gym, same workouts. Still just one moderate, low carb meal a day. But NOW I'm losing weight. I assume the hormonal change from the hysterectomy, combined with age I'm sure just made my already low metabolism hit record lows. Regardless, I'm finally seeing results for all the effort I've been putting it, thanks to the peptide.

There are great studies on the benefits of glp1's and cardiac health protection. Also liver health. I wish the drs would also promote compound pharmacies. Hey, Thomas, thanks for the great video and info! I do have a question though about using semiglutide while on keto - so I recently got my lab results back and they show I have insulin resistance, I am yet to discuss those with my endocrinologist, but I believe they are keen to prescribe semiglutide drugs to help stimulate insulin production. I am on a keto + intermittent fasting regime for 3 weeks now (starting weight was 264 lbs, down to 249 lbs now) and I do wish to use GLP1 as a kickstart and lose 40-50 lbs before devoting entirely to keto/healthy style of eating and exercise. Do you think a moderate keto is suitable while on semaglutide? I couldn't quite understand what Dr. Gillet's opinion was on that. Thanks in advance! ❤ PS - I was on keto back in 2018 and was able to lose 80 lbs in 4 months and I sustained 180 lbs for a year, but then i had to deal with depression, covid19, broken leg, pneumonia, etc, and I regained my weight again 😢 I gave birth for the second time in November last year and I was at my heaviest after breastfeeding my son for 5 months, so it's high time I get a grip and take care of myself. Gosh, it's extremely hard to admit that. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. Expecting your advice! 😊

My doctor told me that I should start to consider surgery. My blood pressure was high and normally between 138 and 148 regularly. I have heard a lot of people would rebound after the surgeries so I wanted to fix my mentality before even thinking about surgery. I signed up for noom and it was not doing it for me but it gave me a lot of info about low calorie and high volume eating. I kept that in mind when I made the decision to start on Mounjaro. In January I started at 498lbs, I was not taking it seriously at first eating whatever I wanted. After a month and 10lbs lost I saw a glimmer of hope. I thought if I lost so much just eating what I wanted, what would happen if I took it seriously. I watched a lot of Huberman lab and it inspired me to change my life style, I took his advice on a lot of things and started doing intermittent fasting. After 30lbs on fasting I was hooked. In the past month I have been doing a lot of research on keto and although I still eat carbs I keep it low carb and high volume and if its keto friendly food or meal I just go with that. Once my hunger started going away I was able to move my fasting from 12 hours a day to 14 and right now between 16 and 18 hours. I started exercising 3 to 4 times a week and upped my protein but I was staying around the same weight for a month. I finally broke that wall after I reduced my protein. I keep my calorie intake below 1600 calories. I am currently at 430LBS and honestly I cannot be thankful enough for Mounjaro. I am also thankful for the information I have learned from Thomas DeLauer and Andrew Huberman.

I've been on Monjarou for the last 9 months and am down 101 lbs so far. A lot of the weight loss was fat but I also lost a significant amount of lean mass. When I went off of Monjarou for 3 months (due to a shortage - unavailable at every local pharmacy) I regained about 16 lbs over a 3 month period. The weight loss resumed the moment I went back on the drug. I dont know if this helps anyone else but I did Carnivore / Keto for the first 60 lbs, and 1300 calories a day for the second 40.

I took ozempic samples that my Dr. gave me for one month (and it was even low dose .5) I’ve been 6’ 310 borderline type 2 my entire life. I’ve always worked out an hour five days a week. I’m a home builder so I do heavy physical labor all day. I’ve had high blood pressure for 10 years. After 1 month I lost 28 pounds, nearly quit drinking alcohol (no desire), had no desire to eat junk food or snack at convenience stores, portion control came naturally, my cardio workout ease and intensity improved over 25%, my blood pressure dropped from 170/95 to 119/76, and I felt better than I ever have in my entire life. My Dr. Was thrilled and gave me an ozempic prescription and said we will now try quitting the blood pressure meds and keep working out. Then my insurance company (Avera Health…. Also the medical provider) said I cannot have any Ozempic. 🤬🤬🤬😡. I guess since the insurance company is also the medical provider they know they need fat unhealthy people with heart problems to make a profit. So I guess I’m not one of the chosen who gets the privilege of health treatment.

I was just thinking…other companies will not be happy about this miracle drug. It will help many get healthy and they won’t need other prescriptions. Hopefully your body got used to feeling that way when you were using the samples & you continue on your journey without needing more ozempic. My dr prescribed and of course, insurance denied. Been border type 2 for years. Had generational diabetes a year ago & diabetes runs heavily on both sides of my family.

Clarity please Thomas DeLauer : I am taking Viktosa injection for weight loss. Week 1 I was taking (1st recommended) 0.6 dose : I lost 2.7 kgs Amazing. Week 2 - I am taking 1.2 dose as recommended but have not lost weight. I eat low carb (last 10 years) , healthy eating (LC veges protein), I am not hungry, I feel light headed taking injections, (my blood pressure is fine, no meds). I am in calorie deficit, gym 3 times a week, 67. 5’3”. 75 kgs ideal 60 kgs. I track my ketones with Acetrack monitor and am in light ketosis most of the time (I believe I am fat adapted), I get higher readings when I work out hard. Question: should I go back to original dose? Or continue increasing next week to 1.8 (as prescribed?)

This was a very good video so far. Im looking at the semaglutide peptide. I was morbidly obese but with keto, intermittent fasting, and creatine monohydrate +HMB and weight training, im down to 182 pounds from 260 in 6 months. Don’t even go out to restaurants because of the bad oils they use. I was so depressed and frustrated. I lost 5 lbs with the first shot of generic semaglutide. 3lbs the 2nd week. It has helped me with cravings. I am feeling hopeful now. I have insulin resistance and nothing helped me lose weight. This is a miracle. I am eating more protein every 2-4 hours, VERY Small portions, like two egg whites, or 3 slices of turkey and ipI feel full. Also, I increased my water intake to half of my body weight.

As we get older, our metabolism slows down and have a tendency to gain weight. Besides trying to maintain a healthy diet by taking dietary supplements only, you must exercise as well, to help burn off the excess fat and calories. You don't positively know If those supplements will have any negative side effects down the road or not. You just can't take everything that advertised online and on the market as fat burners, especially if they're not FDA approved. You'll have to be extremely cautious of what you're putting inside your body. You'll be playing Russian Roulette with your life! I don't if your active and if not, but a person just can't sit around and do nothing and expect to lose weight and stay in good health. To help lose weight, you must keep yourself active and if you don't, not only you'll gain weight, but you'll start having other medical issues in the body by being inactive and not getting enough exercise. Walking and cycling are very good to lose weight and for cardio exercises. A person doesn't have to pay to join a fitness program at the gym to exercise. That's a waste of money! You can walk and ride a bicycle around the neighborhood or on a bike trail as long as you want for free.

I had been on insulin 4 times a day (short acting 3 times and long acting 1 time) around 50 units (which is very high). Now I can't seem to loose weight, my second baby is now turning 2 and I am stuck with diastasis recti + 20kg of extra weight. I have developed arthritis even with that much weight since my body is not used to being overweight.

I have Diabetes 2 as well and was prescribed Trulicity two weeks ago-- the lowest dose for six weeks and then my doctor and I will review and increase the dose if needed. I believe in being your own advocate in medical care, and my doctor agrees and welcomes it. He also teaches other doctors at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. While I usually monitor my diabetes by diet, diet slone has not been enough the past year or so. It's been going up. My A1C hit 7.1 (plus the fact that I recently hit 300lbs) and my doctor thought this might be a good solution-- two birds, one stone. Two weeks in, I'm feeling better; have lost 10 lbs; removed certain carbohydrates, added sugars, and processed foods from my diet; started walking more (I'm nearly 51 with arthritis in my knees and back, so... baby steps are STILL progress; I hope/plan to work up to 10k steps a day), and am starting Variable Resistance Training (X3 Bar) this week. Plus, I'm watching Thomas' and a few others (Will Tennyson, Stan Browney, Sean Nalewanyj, Doctor Mike, Dr. Boz) for fitness and nutritional information to make better food choices, aim for better overall health. Would I call my diet Keto-esque? I dunno. I'm focusing more on protein, good fats, and less carbs... natural, not overly-processed foods. I don't know how to go full Keto yet; still learning. Being disabled, limited income, I can't toss out / donate everything in my pantry and fridge. I have to be able to eat and replenish my pantries with better food choices. But being on Trulicity and feeling better.... I'm hopeful. I was starting to forget what that felt like.

Hey man, question. Massive weight loss via diet restriction has been shown to create havoc on the body's hormones - drop in insulin, cortisol spikes, spikes in SHGB, decreased sex hormones, etc...all of which can affect skin health, hair loss etc. Lots of negative short term affects of severe diets. My question is: has semaglutide bypassed these negative hormone affects? If so, this might be a huge benefit instead of severe dieting.

I take issue, at least for myself; I’m taking Mounjaro specifically to treat my type 2 diabetes, which I’ve had for 30 years. I’d been struggling more than ever before trying to keep my BG levels down, and my hbA1c levels were at the highest they’d ever been. So, my Dr. informed me about Mounjaro & prescribed it for me. The $$ has been extremely high as my insurance has not covered anything toward this prescription, so it’s been strictly out-of-pocket cost for me. Also, the people taking these types of medication off label for weight loss have also caused shortages and I’ve had difficulty filling the prescriptions because of this. There is currently a shortage of the 7.5 strength, and this is not expected to be alleviated by the manufacturer, Eli Lily, for several month out. This is really frustrating and aggravating to me!! So, please acknowledge that this is a valid medication for use with Type 2 diabetics. I’m on my 4th month now, and my labs have already improved greatly. I’ll find out my most recent A1C tomorrow!

Hi, you seem to be a bit uneducated. There are two medication created by Ozempic one is called waggery, which is specifically prescribed for weight loss as far as the shortage goes since we live in a capitalistic society. It’s safe to say if they got this medication FDA approved. Then they understood what the demand would be, and are choosing not to create more of it in order to hike up the prices. Sorry that you are forced to pay out-of-pocket for this medication though. That definitely sucks.
