I have a cat who has hated me since she was a baby. She never attacked me, but acted like I was going to kill her. Every single time she saw me she’d hiss and run away. She is now 19 and for the past 3 months she tolerates me and even has let me pet her and pick her up. Hey it only took 18 1/2 years so there is still hope for you and Karen! LOL

I rescued a Mother cat and her 6 kittens about 10 years ago. The kittens were fine but we could not get near the Mom. Just recently she decided to get in the recliner with me and now she is almost always in my lap when I'm in the chair. Cats are strange creatures. 🤷‍♂️ "only on their own terms"

I’m with you. We have a farm and all the animals are petable but we have a rule that if anything is aggressive, it goes to the freezer. We have little kids, it’s a safety issue. I really like to hear why they keep Karen.

Ouch. We had cattle as a kid, and any that acted like that got adopted out to the farm upstate... You gotta stay healthy to be able to look after everyone. She does make us giggle though with her persistence 😂 Just wish it wasn't at the expense of your safety. 😢

Wow! Those injuries are terrible! Karen might be too much for me to tolerate. Now I see how an encounter with a cassowary could be life-threatening. How you can so calmly endure charge after charge from this maniacal bird is beyond me.

It's safe to assume Karen is a rescue?! If she had raised her from a tinny bopper, Karen would never be Karen. Your love, and tolerance is impeccable (admirable), you know a whole lot more than what you have shared with your audience, and that is very much understandable. As I understand it Karen was rescued from a "petting zoo" or some such. What she endured there may very well have given HER ptsd, which she acts out on Amanda, out of fear and deep distrust towards all humans. She would only learn that she is right in attacking humans first before they can hurt her again. You should never threaten a scared animal with violence.

To begin with, i have absolutely no clue about emus or how to raise them. But sometimes i cant help to wonder how Karen would react if you squared up to her for a change 😅 instead of just stopping her, hiss back and kick her legs. Not in an animal abuse kind of way ofcourse but it works on kangaroos. Punch them on their nose before they kick you, startles them and they get confused and stops the attack. Karen may be having the same "wtf"- moment and realize that you are not to mess with 😅😅😅 I dont know but i personally couldn't take this behavior daily for this long. But kudos to you!! Hahaha....you have the same patience as my guardian angel 😂😂😂

Yes, I’ve often wondered if Amanda ran at Karen flapping her arms, would Karen get so startled she’d think twice. It works with domestic cats but female Emus are dominant and aggressive. Karen was a sook when she was ill though, wanting comfort from Amanda.

dang, that's some serious injuries (concussion/stitches from that fancy woman in a boa. she's NO lady for sure. I am no longer Angel from The Bay (Area) CA USA As of 06-04-2024 I am now MountainAngel. We escaped the Silicon Valley specifically Santa Clara, CA home of the 49ers, and bought a beautiful home on a few acres in the Sierra Foothills. I love it here, the population is less than 1000 filthy animals...ur I mean people live here. Just the way I always dreamed of living. No planes, trains, automobiles, motorcycles, motor scooters, motor skateboards...only the sounds of wildlife and my next-door neighbor's sheep bleating and Raymond the rooster that crows in the morning....but I am awake before he gets up. I have to slap him awake on some days jk. Thanks for sharing Amanda Useless Farm. MountainAngel is somewhere in rural/mountain Sunny California, CA surrounded by Peace and Tranquility.
