OD26 been saying this and people called him crazy. When i first started the game and people told me to learn how to counter strafe but after a lil testing of my own as I played more and more I soon realised there's virtually no difference.

is counter strafing letting go of your movement key to stop is it pressing the opposite movement key to stop (e.g if youre moving right by holding A you press D to stop)

I’ve been doing this, it’s because in val your movement speed is instantaneous but in csgo it ramps up so you have to counter strafe to counter the ramp down but in val you don’t need to

The game has been out for 3 years, anyone who still thinks counter strafing is necessary is an idiot - if you already have it built into your gameplay from csgo hours then you don’t lose out on using it, but you don’t need to learn how to do it as a new player like you would in CS, as it’s a core aspect of the gunplay & movement in cs

no, then you can shoot off of your counter strafes. instead of estimating when you have stopped. 99% of top tier players counter strafe its obviously better. and tenz always does he just finds something out and goes crazy talking about how amazing it is and the new meta or whatever.

It’s not bad to have as a habit, I have thousands of hours in CS & naturally have always countered in val, but plenty of people do not and it’s makes zero difference, it’s a velocity difference of 2ms which can’t be utilised by even the fastest players

No counter strafing is definitely important, people r just crap at it. Tenz isn't known for his good counter strafe anyway. If you can't counter strafe, u r most likely low ascendant and below.

@@c0xkies177 I play with people in IMM3 everyday who still play the game like absolute NPCs, some people just have turbo bad aim hygiene but valorant has so much wiggle room within the skill floor that it hardly matters for most players.

@@c0xkies177 ex-radiant here, and pros have vouched that counter strafing is useless on valorant and they only do it bc of csgo habits and bc none of us are on 0 ping making it even more useless than the negligent advantage on LAN

shoot instantly after stop pressing the key and start moving immediately after shooting instead of pressing a key to slow you down to stop like in csgo.

I came from ow and cs was pretty difficult for me and it wasn't consistent. I watched sodo316 and he explained cs is not necessary, i started doing that and now shots actually go where i aim

He's talking about how it doesn't make u stop faster. He's not saying u shouldn't ever counter strafe. It's for movement and aiming with movement keys. Even in his explanation he strafes stop and shoots. And the counter strafe is about moving into amd out of a fightm

That's true, they don't have to learn that mechanic. But still, counter strafing can still be effective in Valorant for CS players, but they would absolutely get stomped in CS if they don't counter strafe

@@Aurelius11605 So how do you shoot? Do you just let go of the key? Because you will be inaccurate. Or do you just stand still and shoot? Because then you’d be a very easy target. Umm I highly doubt that since this is the one necessary mechanic you need to shoot properly in CS 🤣

I'm trying out valorant rn since cs2 flopped and I feel like counter strafing puts u at a disadvantage since I still get movement error and I think it's because I'm pressing the opposite direction key. I wish it was the same csgo since it would be so much easier for people to convert instead of having to change a very ingrained habit.

Instead of counterstrafing, just shoot in the time it takes for you to let go of a and press d to strafe right and vice versa, you start destroying people

He didn't counter strafe because the mechanic doesn't work in val. Deadzoning does though (which he uses)

So stupid imo, u use counter strafe to have a timing on when to shoot like when ever u press the opposite key ur brain instantly wired in telling u can shoot now, which is faster than actually letting it go. And the thing this guy talking about where u can instantly shoot after letting it go is hard cope, cuz i set a macro to test it out and u guess it the 1st bullet accuracy is dogpoop

I also dodge bullets without counter strafing. I just strafe a/d after I shoot. Counter strafing is when u touch the opposite directional key of where u are going to stop which entirely have the same speed as just letting go of the directional key you are going.
