We’ve had such several solid deals in the past, they never culminated to anything good for the everyday Nigerian. Was this man not there when Mr President proposed to give 8k each to poor families? Something that non experts know is a no brainer for national economic development? Well, we await their magic wand. I for one is not too hopeful again.

@@ezidimmakenneth7927.Before World Bank releases money to a country, it agrees with the country on the purpose of the money being released either as a loan or a grant. That 800 Million Dollar loan or grant was brokered by the last administration and that was what that administration agreed with the World Bank to do with the fund. It was not decided by Tinubu administration. Good enough, as there was a negative reaction from the populace on its disbursement, Tinubu's government had stepped down on it. That must have been part of his contributions as the then adviser on monetary policies. His own part is to advise the government on the best option on handling the national finances.

😂 And they have rules against these things in that book 📕 they refer to from time to time. But if the senators in the very chamber where national laws are made cannot uphold simple rules that are in their books, how do you expect the man on the street to obey the rule of law? That was why the DSS tore the uniform of a prison officer in court premises over common Emefiele 🤷‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. Now, if that is not national disgrace, I don’t know what is.

We need to do better about screening any Nominees by assigning portfolio to them so Senators will ask direct questions base on bothering issues. We don’t need to assume portfolio for the nominees.

From what has been happening, it is very possible that even though the portfolio was not published, these senators speak as if they have been informed of where the president is hoping to station most of the nominees. However, I agree with you. This is 2023 and we need to be more transparent.

The nominee - barrister Belo, from sokoto state, have no business in the federal executive council. His constituency should nominate another person, eminently qualify for the position of minister. Sokoto state should have produced bright graduates from any of the day lvy schools in the world for such an important position.

Wale Edun was the commissioner of finance who oversaw the transformation of Lagos from a N600M monthly revenue bucket to the N61B monthly revenue moneymaking machine under Bola Ahmed Tinubu's masterplan as Lagos state governor. He's more than fit for the job.

What was the role of Wale Edun is the floating policy of naira in the exchange rate mechanism, that has weakened naira to the tune of dollars and pounds? This is the question they need to ask this nominee. If you like you can go to the best school in the World, but how do you want to address the pressing economic problem in Nigeria. This question is missing from indistinquished senators.

@@abiodunkolawole Floating naira means devaluation of naira by more than 44 percent. Naira has been defacto devalued. The policy intention behind devaluation is to prevent poor people and workers with low income from accessing forex, so that foreign companies can repatriate their profits in dollar. Floating naira is not a solution to currency speculators. Fela Anikulapo was jailed by Buhari military regime because dollars were found with him. Let eradicate parallel markets and let forex be given to promote industrialisation, and see whether they will not be stability.

@@82adebayo a simple Google search would have prevented this instead, you are speculating with your beer parlor gist. Currency can be floated in response to market forces (interest rates and foreign investments) which has removed excess gain from selected individuals who decides and set the price for our exchange rate. A fall in investors and exchange can raise the exchange rates (read the business area of the Vanguard)
