Only a low testosterone scared gutless coward would say something like that. If you want to lay big hits then you have to understand and accept you will have to fight people. If you don’t want to fight then don’t lay big bodychecks it’s that simple. It’s always the liberal losers who never played hockey before whining and crying about fighting in the NHL.

@@markiv2942 Any self respecting player would have fought if the score wasn't that tight. Greig launched himself right into Risto's jaw. That should have been five minutes for charging.

How many players actually use their straps properly? I rarely spot a helmet attached properly. In the age of concussion awareness, it's insane not to keep helmets properly attached. It's the same thing with players using their mouthguards as chew toys. Have they never heard of choking? If I was a coach, I'd make it team policy to secure helmets and use mouthguards properly. Don't like it? Keep the bench warm.

@@iconofsin4578 Right, I stopped the video around the :20 second mark where he's actually hitting Rasmus and his left stake is on the ice, shoulder is about the top of the NYI crest on the Jersey and right shoulder is lower than the numbers on Rasmus numbers on his left sleeve. If you call that a jump? You are saying that Greig is 5'5" which he isn't. Because at the height he hit Rasmus, if he left his feet, that is the height he needed to be for how high he hit Rasmus.

How can he have jumped? His shoulder hit Rasmus right above his jersey crest. I stopped the video at :20 seconds with the height of Greig (6'0") and Rasmus (6'4"), Rasmus does look to have 6 inches more than Greig. Mostly because Rasmus shoulders are almost even to Greig's head. So if that was a jump, so was Rasmus before the hit. That is just plain lowering your center of gravity during a hit. What you see as a jump is after the hit.

:20 seconds in the video, you clearly see his left skate blade is on the ice. But since you are a Flyer fan and probably American, you might need to watch the video at slow motion. You're too used to see slow sports like Baseball and Football.

That was such a textbook charging penalty that you might as well call it lunging. If it were Matthews or McDavid getting hit, they'd be out for a year and the hockey media would be calling for Grieg's head. Risto didn't even seem phased by it.

Lol ok. The book says "Charging is the action where a player takes more than two strides or travels an excessive distance to accelerate through a body check for the purpose ." Greig is gliding the whole time and collided with Ristolainen who wasn't paying attention. Keep your head up, it's not figure skating.

@@jaybobd you're right. That's USA Hockey wording, but it's more straightforward than the NHL rulebook. The point is Greig didn't take strides or travel excessive distance to accelerate through a body check on purpose. He was following the play and body checked a player with the puck.

@@vdawg2224 Hahaha! Why don't you actually quote the *official NHL Rulebook* instead of embarrassing yourself? It's very detailed, and this is clearly charging. Had this been reviewed it would have been a straightforward call as a major penalty for the refs. They completely missed it on the ice however, which isn't shocking considering the score. Launching yourself into a player's jaw with your shoulder isn't a clean body check. Read the NHL Rulebook and weep.
