I ran NiLight pods and 20” bar for 4yrs on my jeep. Deep mud, deep creek crossings. They held up great. I just decided to go to ARB lights. But silicone is best idea for saving money on cheaper bars

10-4 I am working on it. I ran the motor bone stock on the boat and filmed it before we did any mods. Once I get it on the 16 footer I will get a before and after video done.

Great tips but as an add on I learned many years ago that I'd your silicone smells like vinegar you do NOT use it around electronics or aluminum. That smell is active acid and will corrode copper and the aluminum reflectors over time. A better option is O2 sensor safe silicone RTV for engines. Just bear in mind that some types are electrically conductive so check the label first

Don't use it for permanent underwater sealing. Not made for it. Like fishing lights. Butyl and polyurethane better.

Living in Panama and having 7 months of heavy rain, my “waterproof” light bar is just a fish tank. I got expensive silicone and thought everything was sealed. Took it apart again, cleaned & dried everything. Sealed it again and? Right. Full of water again. The seller did send me a replacement but I didn’t had the time to install it.

I actually just use 3m 5200 with a a tip and go around the lens and the outside and paint it back black with a sharpie and literally never had a issue. Takes about 5 mins or less per light

I’ve only had cheap led light bars. I run my stuff hard, and I’ve never had any fail. And yes, I clicked for the bumper…not the lights. Haha! The front of my boat looks terrible!

Once you apply silicone spray soapy water on it than wipe off silicone silicone won't stick to anything wet

Silicone is for amateurs. NP-1 or any polyurethane caulk. Silicone will unseal in about a month or two. NP-1 is used on storefronts at the concrete and frame by the best Glazers. So, your choice. Even siliconized latex is better..

@@SendItJonBoats only been using it for almost 50 years, been around longer. Home depot carries it, lowes, ace should. Check in concrete section if not in paint. Was less than $5 a tube BB. Before Biden.

I love the light set up .....I want to see the harley boat when you gonna put out footage ..,..advice I'd put a car electric cooling fan to push air over find if you get stuck it will keep it from getting to hot......I'm doing the same with a closed water system ninja 600 but I want to set motor in boat bottom run shaft threw transom but make it where I can swivil the shaft up or down what's your opinion before I cut a hole in my boat?

Has this silicone lasted? It won't stick to acrylic, but it will to glass. Or does it just become a gasket and doesn't need to stick?

I did this to my 30” curved blight I mounted down in the cut out of the front bumper on my old f150, kept the water out for 5-6 YEARS until a car in front of me on the highway kicked up a rock that cracked the lense. Once the lense cracked, there was condensation inside the light bar within a week or two, and then the leds slowly started failing, but up until then, not one led emitter went out, and not a lick of moisture in that bar most of the leds still work to this day! I highly recommend nilight if you don’t mind doing this procedure! My girlfriend got me a 52” for the roof of my new silverado I’m installing it right now and following this procedure I’m just watching this video as a refresher lol.
