Another great thing to remember is that you don’t have to output each individual track directly to the stereo out. You can output certain tracks to an aux channel, do more processing, then send that aux channel to the stereo out. It really opens up a ton of possibilities. Thanks for another great video!

I make sure I’m getting the exact same mix in my phones as my speakers by setting up an aux chan called “Out Bus” and setting its output to St Out and a send to my phones (15-16 on my Motu 863). Then every other channel, tracks and aux, have output set to the Out Bus aux chan. Never have to worry about setting send levels on individual channels for the phones. Makes it easy to mute the speakers when recording with mics. Just mute St Out and leave the Phones output open.

Was really confused until I googled it and learned the volume fader comes BEFORE the pan knob in signal flow even though it’s not laid out that way 😂.

Very clear and concise video. A subject that is basic but very much needed to all Logic Pro X users. I would like your thoughts or maybe a video of how Apple can improve LPX. Mine is a simple one to allow drag and drop in the Mixer window of channel and bus strips. This is lacking in Logic

Why does 'sends on faders' have more resolution? It doesn't make sense that they would have two ways of doing the same thing outputting two different levels of resolution, especially if being that they don't disclose it or offer they higher resolution option as the default.

Can you go over Aux channels (output)a little more thoroughly?
@christianlaurent5807
@christianlaurent5807 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for all the tutorials you've already offered. Always clear and helpful. I do have a question regarding the display of an "Aux" track when a bus is created. I do have 2 iMac with 2 different versions of Logic Pro X. With the Logic Pro X 10.6.3 the "Aux track" appears when I create a bus. However, in my studio I do have still Logic Pro 10.5.1 and can't change it. With this version, the "Aux" is not immediately displayed when a bus is created. I first have to select the window "all" right click on the Bus and activate "read" on the Aux and transform it as a file. Is this associated to a specific setting or to the older version of Logic ? I know, that's not a huge task...but it's boring to make this process every time a bus is created. Thanks for your attention and reply. take care and stay safe..

Excellent stuff, i have always used Logic Pro for my piano purposes (basic tracking and composing) but now i am entering full band environment and this is super useful. It would be great if you could make a video about track stacks (Folder and Summing) and the routing that goes with them, for example, for using with parallel compression, what is the best way to do it? Liked and suscribed

Don't get me wrong. I've started using busses, sends, etc. simply because it's satisfying to keep things organized and I like the ability to blend dry with wet. But processing has never seemed to be a chief concern.

For some reason that little sends on faders power on and off button at the top of the mixer window isn’t displaying on my software? Do you know how I can get that to appear?
@WhyLogicProRules
@WhyLogicProRules 5 жыл бұрын
I do! For some screen sizes there simply isn't enough space to include the power button at the top of the Mixer. If you right-click or control-click one of the Sends in your Project, you should see "Sends on Faders" in the drop down Sends menu. Click on "Sends on Faders" to view the lovely yellow Faders :)

When we export ALL stems for mixing step with other software suite like Izotope, all the Aux channels are not exported. Is there a way to have Logic Pro export them?
@JeroenvanOlffen
@JeroenvanOlffen 5 жыл бұрын
You can export each track or group of tracks one by one using "Bounce Project or Section". Might be easier to use Izotope within Logic though?
@WhyLogicProRules
@WhyLogicProRules 5 жыл бұрын
Hey entweka, thanks for mentioning that! It's important to remember that Logic can only Export what's in the Main Window (not the mixer). Be sure to create tracks for your Auxes. Also - if you have software instruments sending to your Aux channels, they won't export properly. Use the pencil tool to create a region on those Aux channels that extend from Bar 1 to the end of your Project. Then use the "Export Regions as Audio Files..." option to Export those Aux Regions.

Im sick of Avid-ex Digidesign PR guys using condescending language like if you want a more professional none amateur level DAW move up fro Pro Tools Studio, Cubase and Logic to Pro Tools ultimate, Steinberg is the same now, they spread lies like Logic is an entry level musicians app, to get deeper (not to mention un ergonomically) Cubase is the real music app and depends on your level of musicianship, they have tons of BS adverts like this yet I know guys who sat in rooms with pro tools hardware and logic interfaces since the 1990s and every record they finish is platinum !

Yes Logic rules but Apple needs to fucking loosen up the rains on only offering Logic for the latest OS, not everyone can afford to buy a new Mac every year, there is NO WHERE on the site to get an older version, that’s bullshit they’ll be getting paid the same so why should they care, make it easier for anyone that wants the software to be able to get the software!

This doesn’t seem like “everything to know” about buses. You didn’t discuss side-chain compression, or things like output being able to go to a bus instead of sound. Etc. this is a topic that is very confusing for people. I have had a lot of trouble on this topic, and had higher hopes for this video.
