The West coast style Offense is simplified enough to teach to anyone coming into the NFL from college, yet no SO different of an O style that NE will need to overhaul the players they have (and want) immediately either, like they would kind of need to do with the newer Shanahan Style Offense. He was an unexpected name but the more I think about it, Van Pelt is everything I was hoping for in NE's new OC (under new HC Mayo). Experienced, good with QBs, and he's not likely to bounce to a new team as a HC if this works out in NE. ☑️➕️👍👍. LFG Pats!

Is it not clear enough that Bill the GM was the source of all the problems because of his ego? He started 10 years ago or so to believe he was a genius. It pushed him to make dumb decisions after dumb decisions as GM and he won three more Super Bowls living on players he drafted before he started believing he was a genius. Why do you think Caley was the #1 candidate to be OC before Van Pelt was hired? Because he should have been well ahead of Patricia for that job when McDaniels left, but Bill the genius decided that Patricia and Judge were a better solution. Caley left after that out of frustration. Mac Jones was also very frustrated by this dumb move. He was happy to be drafted by N-E because he thought he would have great coaching and support and he ended up with Laurel & Hardy in his second year with no supporting cast around him. Sorry, nothing against Patricia and Judge, but to put them in that position was just delirious. Bill simply became out of control as a GM, simply crazy. That's why he is out of a job now, the whole league is aware of what he became overall . His only way to redemption is to accept a head coaching job with an already good roster where he will concentrate only on coaching and forget about the rest of the operation. It was impossible to retain only Bill the head coach in N-E, that's why he is out. And with the hiring of Van Pelt over Caley, you can see a desire to purge most of the ties, direct or indirect with the Belicick era. I would be surprised if the two sons remain with the organization.

If they draft a franchise qb then there's hope, otherwise no chance. Back to the pre Parcells/Belichick teams which Kraft seems to prefer. He doesn't like one guy having too much power even if it means SB appearances. He wants a group of low-paid collaborators that are willing to sit down and have tea and cookies with the Krafts. How sweet. Even Brady recently said the Patriot Way doesn't exist. It's just a figment of Kraft's imagination that they all play along with when their paycheck depends on it.

I have a hard time understanding the bashing of the Patriots offensive systeme that led them to 6 SB wins, 9 SB presence, and 13 conference final in 18 years with Brady. Mac Jones did well in this system as a rookie with not much around him, so this system was not the problem, the damn problem was our "genius" GM freakin Bill Belichick who drafted awfully on offense since drafting Gronk, and made a lot of other dumb moves like replacing Jakobi with JuJu. Again the problem was Belichick the GM, especially on the offensive side of the ball. He never realised that Brady made up for so many of his dumb ass moves.
@DSlav2488
@DSlav2488 5 ай бұрын
The problem with their system is that tom brady is the only guy on the planet that can run it. So unless you have tom brady...you're fucked. No one else can run it. It wasn't their "system" that led them to those championships; it was brady. Brady was the system. It wasn't belichick. Brady then led a bad previously bad TB team to a championship the very next year.

Could you take a look at his recent drafts? He could have been better at drafting and developing offensive players. Patriots have stunk on offense since Tom left. Why would you bring these guys into a young team that needs offensive improvement? I'm ready to try new things here in NE, especially on offense. Let's go AVP! The Pats dynasty is over. It was all the combination of Brady/Belichick and they are gone. Unless they get lucky and get a franchise qb in upcoming draft, they will just be an also-ran for a long time, possibly a laughingstock again like they were. I'm a Pats fan, but have been well before the dynasty started so I know what a joke franchise looks like. I also know the difference that first Parcells, and then more importantly, Belichick made. I can't stand these frontrunner Patriot fans that jumped on the bandwagon and know nothing about football. They're a bunch of idiots that take everything for granted. Kraft loves them because they mean money and the media kowtows to them. They don't deserve any more success and I've had enough fun with the real dynasty and will have no problem watching them suffer and fall off the bandwagon as frontrunners do. Other fans around the league have every right to hate those Patriot fans because they are morons.

The worst was Kraft wanting Mac Jones and Bill didn't. That was the first of the Kraft's Kollaborators picks. Bill probably regrets going along with it, but clearly he didn't want to leave. Kraft couldn't stand Parcells having too much power and he hated Bill having too much power. He has said it many times, just have to listen. He now says how great it is that he can talk to anyone he wants without having to go thru one person. He's even too much of a coward to say Bill, he says "one person". Gee Bob, who possibly could that person be? Kraft went along with it because of all the SBs, but one year after Brady gone and he inserted himself completely. Maybe they get lucky with a franchise qb, otherwise they will become the joke that Kraft has always tried to direct them to be.

What happened to the Lions in the NFC title game happened to the Patriots in 2006/7 against the Colts.
@stickman1742
@stickman1742 5 ай бұрын
Sort of, but not exactly the same. The Lions lost that game very quickly near the end when they fell apart. The Pats got off to a good lead in 2nd qtr after some Colts mistakes, but then Peyton stopped making mistakes and started bringing them back. The Colts just got closer and closer and it ended up being a tight game. The Pats did not choke it away at the end. It was the one time that Manning played horribly early, but then flipped the switch and played great after that all the way to the end. The Pats D was a little older at that point and they were spent in the 2nd half. They just couldn't stop Manning at the end. Brady was always better playing from behind than ahead so it was kind of a reverse situation. The Pats probably still could have put the game away on a 3rd down pass to Troy Brown, but Brown did not cut to the wide open sideline. Instead he stopped and Sanders was able to come over and knock the 1st down pass away. Brady runs up to Brown after pointing to the sideline. That one decision was probably the game. First down there and it was most likely over. They had a lot of close calls over the years, usually the Pats came out ahead, but a few times they didn't. I found the 2005 playoff loss in Denver more frustrating as the Pats dominated the game, but lost due to 4 turnovers while Denver had none. Throw in a couple of suspect referee calls too. They should have won that game and they would have been hosting the Steelers in the AFC championship game the following week and they always dominated the Steelers. Then to SB vs the Seahawks where they most likely would have won, but who knows.

I really have to agree with Greg... The players that have came into the league in the passed 3 years, do not like to be coached hard. This season alone, you seen players screw up on the field, walk off the field, and ignore the coach and what he has to say. Sitting in the back bench with their arms crossed. Honestly if you get paid millions of dollars to play football, and can't take a Belichick, Vrabel type of coaching, then this league is not for you. Hard coaching has produced some of the best players to ever come through the league.

Bills Drafts have been abysmal since 2015, his people skills got worse, but promoting Matt Patricia and Joe Judge to run the offense after McDaniels and all their offensive coaches left was absolutely insane. Of course the Krafts are on notice. Kraft ran Parcells/Belichick out of town after that SB team and they went down badly over the next 3 years even though they had good young talent. Kraft gave up on his Carroll/Grier collaboration and brought Belichick back probably just to spite the Jets. Well, Belichick took that team with some talent and quickly added more and made it the dynasty we all know and love. Of course Brady was huge, but it was Bill that drafted him and put him ahead of Bledsoe even when 1/2 the Boston media said that was crazy. If they don't win in 2001, don't be surprised if Kraft ended up firing Belichick and reinserting Bledsoe before the dynasty really got going. Now Kraft has got exactly what he wants, a group of low paid toadies he calls collaborators with none of them being responsible for anything that happens. Recipe for disaster.

We need Elliot Wolf to make blockbuster trades with teams and get some decent talent because the free agency market sucks. We got a trade for a fourth round pick just like what San Fran did With Lance. And I wouldn’t mind if we traded for Justin Field. If we can’t get the quarterback at number three, then we can get Marvin Harrison Junior, and then make a trade for another superstar, wide receiver, and tight end resign Henry. @@stickman1742 no he won’t we never make blockbuster trades. That’s why craft is a terrible owner. He won’t pay big bucks for a high-quality guy not gonna be disappointed I’m expecting that that’s why we’re gonna be the last place every year.

Amazing how in 4 years the premier organization in the NFL..Patriots...has turned in to a dumpster fire.

You think going down over 4 years is amazing? Apparently you know little about the NFL, 4 years is a lifetime. The average player last maybe 3 years. The amazing part was keeping a dynasty running for almost 2 decades, but a great qb with a great coach can do that. They're gone and now it is the Kraft Klownshow. Should be good for a laugh anyway.

NE has not changed with the times and it’s hurt the growth of the team. Penny pinching 🤏🏾 with a championship pedigree is crazy! Kansas City has stayed a float investing or at at least grabbing decent level talent that can excel in the right situations. Dang that’s exactly how we used to do it lol only difference is we had a FRANCHISE QB….

i hate the hire of Van Pelt..old school Kubiak style wast coast offense..very predictable..this is why Cleveland was one and done, no experiece in play calling..i was hoping for a younger innovate hire, Van Pelt has been lack luster and fired every where he has been..

Issue with a young up and coming hire is you get no consistency. Few good seasons and the guys going to another team and ya back at square one.

Kraft isn't innovative, in fact he's completely clueless. He just likes to hire people that will take a low salary and are willing to sit down and have tea and cookies with the Krafts.

Wait...so what you're saying is...the Patriots got rid of the GOAT because they needed a "change"...but they're not going to change how the team operates? Seems fucking dumb

Yes, everything going on now makes no sense. They wanted to make a change, but all they did was get rid of the top guy and keep everyone else. I'd have some respect if Kraft had cleaned house, but clearly he has no clue what he is doing. Although, it's also easy to see that when you listen to what Kraft actually says. He's an idiot when he talks about football. He sounds like some angry fan sitting in the stands that has no clue why things happen the way they do, which for most of his life he was. Nothing changed while he's been the owner, still clueless as ever.

Classic case of the devil you know and the devil you dont... This is what happens when you go with the devil you don't. Hope everyone who wanted belichick out is happy now. You can hear in Greg's voice the concern over the recent hiring with the team. Cause I'm really concerned. This team is gonna be a disaster this coming season. On the bright side, gonna be another high draft pick for 2025!

Unless they get lucky with a real franchise qb in the draft, this is going to be the ultimate clownshow. I enjoyed the 2 decade actual dynasty and don't expect to ever see the likes of that again. Now just aim at the Krafts and fire away at what they will become.
