Hi guys, I after a lot of careful thought & research. I recently invested in the industry standard, tried & tested HD 25's.
In this video, I've unboxed the plus model, given my personal review on the product & a comparison to previous headphones I have used in the past.
I hope this video is useful to anyone unsure of which headphones to buy next.
I'm well & truly on the HD 25 train & can't see me changing anytime soon.
If you have any questions or requests for future tips/tricks videos.
Please hit me up in the comments below.
Thanks for watching.

I love my HD25s. So good I went and bought a spare pair for my bedroom setup. Defintiely the last pair of headphones you will ever need. These were originally for TV broadcasting. But ended up becoming a industry standard for DJ's. I bought the plus models. I prefer the original leather cups over the velour ones. But its nice to have both and the cable is a big plus too. I paid 165 pounds. (290 Australian) I love them. These cover my ears better than any other headphone. Perfect for monitoring.

Been djing for 17 years now and Ive also had 4 pairs of Sony MDRV700 but they always end up breaking after 3-4 years. They are still amazing and I would still buy them but Ive never heard of anyone say their HD25s broke. I decided to get a new pair because of this and the amazing crisp sound they have. These are a WIN WIN.

Had 2 pairs of HD25's in the past as a bedroom dj. The first set lasted 7 years even after dropping them in beer, second set lasted 2. The one design flaw is the connectors eventually come loose, otherwise they are perfect headphones. Been using a pair of Pioneer HDJ C70's for the last three years (the HD25 copies.) They are also good but slightly heavier and bulkier and not as many replaceable parts. Just got a new set of HD25 plus, forgot how good they sound!

I've heard the connectors on the new version (2016 and later, after it got renamed back to the HD25 again, after previously being the "HD25-1 II" for a few years) have that issue fixed. Not sure if it's true or not, but I just picked up a pair so hoping it is.

@@JesusGreenBL I just read your comment and pulled one of the connectors to check. They are indeed a different design now and seem to fit in more securely than the older models. Will have to give them a few years to see if they last.

Thanks man, you helped me make my decision. After all the research I did, it came down to these and the V-MODA. With all the point you hit I'm very confident that the Sennheiser HD 25 Plus are the ones for me. Cheers! :-)

If you DJ I'd personally say stay away from V-Moda. I've broken 2 pairs of the Crossfades in the same spot. Exactly why I'm looking at these

Im so confussed with the Sennheiser brand now. I am trying to compare the Pioneer X7 X10 and HDJ 2000 MK2 VERUS Sennhieser HD 25.... but i see you get a HD lite and a HD plus and then i see this 25-1 i dont know what the bloody hell is going on anymore

And the HD 25 Lightweight I reckon is like the regular with a lighter frame and the straight cable? I'm glad they dropped it down to 3 models, was a bit confusing when they had 7 different variants. Always love my Sennheiser & Shure headphones so need to check these one out.

If you buy some from 2020 their the ones you want. (stay away from the yellow and blue cup ones)

I love my HD 25. They finally broke. It was the cable so I ordered a new cable for $15usd. So are you still rocking these headphones?

Glad I came across your video. What is going on with the HD series. Why would Sennheiser release a mark ii and a plus version which are not superior to the HD 25 mark one which I bought over ten years ago! I listened to both recently and unless they are copies, which I am sure they are not, they do not outshine the mark one. The extras just don’t do it for me! I was hoping for some more quality in the flat studio monitor sound. Glad I managed to buy the mark ones again at a bargain price! Best headphones for a deejay and monitoring ever as far as I am concerned.

It's a bit confusing but Sennheiser previously had 7 HD 25 Variants, and a few years ago dropped them down to 3 variants ( The HD 25 Lightweight, HD 25 & HD 25 Plus) so it wasn't as confusing for the market/customers. I'm really glad they did this. Since that should cover everyone's needs and by going with the Lightweight (if that's comfortable for you) one can save a lot between that and the Plus. Why would they need more than 3 variants anyway..Hopefully now we can see them in limited colors etc every now & then :)

Pure marketing nothing more since the market is satuated with head gear! But nearly nothing to compare to the HD 25 mark i. I am glad mines are still in good condition and I have deejayed with them for 18 years! Only the Audio Technica M50x come close to these!

the YAXI Type 2 ear pads would likely improve fit/comfort if that's an issue. The pleather ones you get out the box aren't the best really.
