Ooo I love the XKR XK8. Our local garage had an XK8 for sale recently. Beautiful.

AMEN!! They can have all their “modern” carbon fiber/brushed aluminum. If I wanted that, I’d be looking German…

They did offer an interior with less wood leather on the X100, but who wants that?

A beautifal example of a XK8 and a really enjoyable review, i can see some switch gear which is familiar to me. The beige leather interior and wood really set this car off.

Oh yes, lots of old Ford bits, not that that is necessarily an issue. It's not bad for just over Sensible Secondhand Classics money, is it?

My husband & I bought a 2000 XKR coupe when a deal on an E-Type fell through. In hindsight we ended up with an equaly beautiful car that is far more practical & cost a fraction of the price of an E-Type. The XKR is mainly used for club runs when the weather is too hot to take our Mk2 Jag so fuel costs is not a major consideration. The fuel economy is actually not that bad for long distance touring on a steady throttle. We bought our car 4 years ago & prices have already increased substantially for XKR coupes suggesting that they will become a future classic.

Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting! Yes, the XKRs are definitely worth more than the standard XK8s. They are both much cheaper and easier to live with than an E-Type, though, lovely though E-Types are (I have driven two)!

Without doubt a very distinguished car. Beautiful exterior and exquisite interior. Fast and comfortable with a reputation for reliability. I think a worthy successor to be brilliant XJS. Definitely this would fit into a four car garage with the following. A. A 2003 BMW 540i. B. A 2006 Volvo V70 SE. C. A 2004 Mercedes Benz CLK 320.

Mr Coleman and I have debated this, and I think we would prefer an XJ8 to the XK8, but I do agree with you about the P2 Volvo V70 wholeheartedly.

Yes reliable engines...early Nikasil problems should be over with now and just make sure it has the latest timing chain tensioners fitted. The later 4.2s had a more dependable 6 speed gearbox. Speed control was possibly an option too as it certainly was in the early x308s.
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 ай бұрын
Yes, I think all of these had cruise control. I spoke with Mr Coleman about the reliability issues with this V8. There aren't nearly as many as some other comparable engines from other manufacturers.

I love Jags my XJS convertible is the same regarding the back seats the idea was to keep the cost of Insurance down the XJS has a galvanized body so no rust I see quite a few XK8s here if you driving one you don't worry about the cost it's the enjoyment and quality of the car hard to find nowadays as William Lyons said Grace Space and Pace which they have thanks for the video Joseph best regards Andy Allen.

They aren't that expensive, surprisingly. Same with the XJ-S. I did like this car very much, but I am much more of a Jaguar Saloon person, which probably isn't too surprising! Thank you again for watching, sir.

The Mark X and 420G never quite sold in the numbers Jaguar expected, I think.
@andyallen63225 күн бұрын
@@lloydvehicleconsulting The Jaguar Mark X (Mark Ten), later renamed the Jaguar 420G, was British manufacturer Jaguar's top-of-the-range saloon car for a decade, from 1961 to 1970. Jaguar sold 24,282 units over nearly ten years. Production output included 13,382 3.8-liter cars, 5,137 4.2-liter vehicles, and 5,763 420G versions. Although Jaguar introduced the 4.2-liter mill in 1964, this Mark X appears to have the 3.8-liter inline-six So that's the lowdown I know Jaguar hoped to sell the Mk 10 in America some did come here but never was able to compete against Cadilac and Lincon my MK 10 a 1966 model was 4.2 Litre with three S.U Carburetors when the oil crissis hit in 1974 I struggled with the cost of petrol when I drove from Nottingham to London I would have to stop at the Shell station as you came to the North Cicular road and I would be on reserve so almost 20 gallons to refill at 76 pence a gallon I know that sounds cheap but when I first got the Jag I could get 4 star for 32 pence a gallon anyway have a great weekend best regards Andy Allen.
