it has to be vacuumed down to get moisture out of line. the refrigerant is not inside the copper lines. It is RELEASED into the copper lines from the outside unit.

Had a senville leto 24,000 since Feb, works good. If you have a freon leak problem in the future, be good idea to vacumn system down before refilling unit, as moisture in freon system will cause big problems over time! A bender for freon lines is a necessary tool they don't tell you about either. As far a temp of the unit, remote has a "follow me" feature, that remote becomes the thermostat for unit. Place it in line of sight of inside unit and leave it pointing at unit all the time, prop it up to where it pointed at unit and it will maintain temperature wherever remote is placed. They don't explain that feature in manual very well!

I also purchased a Senville from Ebay. It is a 36000BTU Artic Series here in Canada.. It is also the Aura Series. I installed it myself, this summer (2023) took some work but not too bad. Have used it a few times for the AC, and dam it works good, dam cold. Just on 20% fan speed, it is super quiet and it blew about 20 feet, right into the center of the living room. The house has a large vaulted ceiling about 15oo square feet. It was so cold, I couldnt run it ever more than about 30 minutes at 30+ C outside, Tried the heat function one morning, and super quick, and darn warm. I had it turned to just 70. The reason for the install was to save some dam money on power consumption...well we will see. So far..I highly recommend!!

He is a bad refrigeration tehc, You need to pressurize with nitrogen, to check for leak, and helps eliminate humidity that in the pipes. Humidity is the worse enemie of a refrigeration system. And after , you need to do a good vacuum. for a long lasting trouble free mini split.....

If you get your ODP Certification (Ontario/Canada) or EAP608 (USA), Senville will honor full warranty with a self install. Its a 300 online course in Ontario, definitely worth it. Just bought the same unit for my new garage going up at the end of the month.

@@Jon-hx7pe ya, I called there Canadian office and sales transferred me to their technical support team and he told me to write my ODP Certification number in the HVAC license number section of the warranty card. If you look at the law and during the training it explains that even licensed HVAC cannot release/charge or work/handle/purchase controlled refrigerant without the seperate certification. Definitely call and verify for yourself though. I cannot speak to other manufacturers, but this is what Senville Canada told me.

chasing the charge! thats great on new construction from the 1980s when the call backs will be from some other guy a few years down the road. If youre going to spend the money on a new system, 1) find an hvac friend that has a vacuum pump, the license doesnt matter if you dont know what youre doing, license doesnt give you skill!!! 2) nitrogen leak check 3) bring a damn vacuum pump, 4) run 10' of lineset minimum, 5) use the vacuum pump or find a new hvac "buddy" , 6) youtube is not always your friend 7) if your "buddy" used the flare fittings, make sure he re-flared them, factory flares suck, use Nylock, use the torque wrenches, and read the damn book!! Senville has a great product, as an actual hvac guy, I installed them on my 5th wheel camper, operates flawlessly looking good and operating good are 2 separate things, your buddy did you no favors
@Turninstones

You are absolutely correct he did not do me any favors. I wish he would've at least ran a vacuum pump thru or told me he didn't have one before he came out. I may go ahead before I really fire up the air conditioner and hire a professional to come out and check it just to be safe. They are nice units and the last thing I want are issues. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your information!!

I know one of your viewers mentioned it,however I want to point out again the condenser unit that contains the refrigerant is separated from the evaporator inside your home with all the lines you hooked up that came with the unit that is all open to oxygen and that is required to remove. Why? Because it contains H20 which is corrosive within a sealed system of refrigerant and ultimately will fail sooner than later. Need to vacuum the lines,it is required, all the video’s you pull up show this.

I got a 24000 refurbished unit cheap and so far no issues other than the Alexa smart control USB seems to be an issue. I don't think the issue is the mini split but Alexa. I was an HVAC technician in the military and I pulled a vacuum on my mini split when I installed it. I used a cheap vacuum pump that I bought on Amazon. The one mistake I made was I disconnected the hose from the service port BEFORE I released the refrigerant into the lines. I don't know if any air and moisture got into the lines or not but so far it is working fine. My guess is some outside air got sucked into the lines while I was unscrewing the fitting but hopefully it wasn't a lot.

@Turninstones

Hi, you have a main wire that comes with your Senville mini split, it connects the outside unit to the inside unit. Then you connect a separate wire (Sold separately). It connects from the outside unit to your electrical breaker/ shutoff box which should be mounted near the outside unit.. I used 10/3 and ran it from my shut off box Then to my my main fuse box. Hope this helps.

Your absolutely right. That particular Senville bracket didn't allow me to come away from the wall as far as I'd liked. @@Turninstones I believe pdnhsa was referring to the clearance between the outside unit and the wall that it's hung on and not the height of the installed unit. The height looks good. There's a minimum clearance between the wall and the back of the unit that must exist so proper air flow exists. It's hard to tell from the video but it looked like the back of the unit sits really close to the wall. However, not pulling a vacuum to begin with is most likely your performance issue. Pulling a vacuum is required for all mini splits except for those that come with a pre-charged line set like the Mr. Cool units. When air and other contaminants are left in the line, this definitely affects the performance and maybe the life of the unit itself. Hopefully you did a leak check by spraying the connections with soapy water or store bought leak check fluid to identify any refrigerant loss. You still might do the leak check again to verify you might not have a small refrigerant leak. Best bet though, get a real HVAC guy to take a look at it (you might already have done that). Even if he recommends doing a costly refrigerant replacement because of the contaminated non-vacuumed line set it might be worth it. If you do bring in a HVAC guy, do another video, we'd love to hear the outcome. Thank for this video.

Senville units come precharged with 25 ft worth of refrigerant. Standard lineset is 16 ft and yours looks like 16 ft. Your neighbor likely use some refrigerant to flush out the air from your lines and indoor unit. That's likely why your system runs okay. For sure not as good as running vacuum but it did the trick. Anyone agree?

Sorry to hear this, my neighbor just went through a similar experience. His started pushing codes. He had 4 different techs from different companies stop out and most didn't want to touch the Senville. Finally he managed to find a tech that knew what they were doing. His ended up being the compressor was bad and he had just installed the unit. Senville tech support said they rarely ever go bad, that said the Senville tech did send him a knew compressor and it works fine now, but what a nightmare. Hope you get your issue figured out soon friend, thanks again for stopping by.

Correct he never pulled a vacuum. I am no expert but from what I was told by a different heating and air company is that early on they would just release the refrigerant on new units, but that was years ago. He said the new heating & air techs are trained to pull a vacuum all the time to make sure the lines are clean. I was hoping the original guy I called could've done that, but he didn't even have a vacuum kit. He's old school but I trust his knowledge and knock on wood it hasn't given me any issues as of yet.
