Let me expose the faultlines... Around 60% of Karnataka's revenues comes from Bengaluru.. Bengaluru is known for IT / BT. If you see the mix of people in IT companies,, hardly 10 - 15% will be originally from Karnataka.. Around 50% will be from TN, Andhra, Telangana, Kerala. Around 30% - 40% are from North India. So Bengaluru is in an advantageous position because of lack of Infra in North states.. If North states improve their infra,, then this advantage is lost. Bengaluru is called startup capital,, but most of the people who create startups are not originally from Karnataka. Also when I was doing my Engineering,, all private colleges in Karnataka were wooing North Indians who are going for payment seats in Colleges. I do agree that Karnataka and south Indian states are deprived of funds from the centre,, but to say that we will drive out North Indians,, we want a seperate country etc is very much divisive. Infact Bengaluru can grow with the best people from all over the country.. The day this is forgotten,, then Bengaluru and Karnataka will no longer retain its status.
