That Tom Ford sample set is a joke. Companies are really squeezing pennies out of people. I remember the good old days when people were happy to hand out samples.

Yes! They are trying to create a new norm for newer consumers. I am 55 and I have watched this happen-products have improved but the prices can be ridiculous when you unit it out. Luxury brands can actually be the better deal. No death by 1000 cuts

Great video, great suggestions. I bought the rare beauty last year set, loved it. Will repurchase their set this year. The pillow talk on the go looks great and I think I'll def. spurge the la mer collection. I might add the Armani blush duo unless they are super tiny. At the Nordstrom sale I bought the Armani glow enhancer gift set, love them and its a great gift. Thanks again Sofia!

The mascara set allows you to redeem a full size mascara so, $28 is a great deal! I got the pink bag set and I think I am going to get the lip set too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will most likely pick up the Sephora set of 3 lipsticks as stocking stuffers which I didn't know about until you mentioned it and I was looking for something like this so I'm glad you mentioned it. Aside from that in terms of gifts sets I'll probably pick up the Tatcha skin essentials set for a gift and olaplex for me. I completely agree with you on beauty advent calendars with one exception. I bought the Body Shop premium advent calendar in the past which comes with many full size products and broke them out into multiple gifts for friends/family I know enjoy the products/brand as well as kept some of the products for myself and used the box for storage of my samples so I think that calendar is great value because of the size and variety of products. I missed out buying the Dior set w the gold clutch 2 yrs ago but I’m glad I didn’t get it cuz I’m so happy w this yr Dior gold clutch as it can fit more items when I bring it out and it looks gd on my 5ft 8 inches height

The only advent calendar I've ever bought that I didn't regret was last year's Cult Beauty calendar, which had a ton products I'd wanted to try and full sizes of ones I already knew I loved. Unfortunately this year's isn't anywhere nearly as good 🙁

Thank you for this round up. I already recieved Charlotte tilbury's pillow talk on the go set (I have none of those and I wanted her matte blush wand in pillow talk, not available in France). I will split it up BUT for myself, to put in my home made advent calendar, along with saie blushes trio and kayali perfume samples set (and some Pat McGrath goodies I ordered ^^). It will be hard to wai and not touch or smell them but I'll be good...

I’ve never done advent calendars before. I feel like companies are pushing them a ton or there lots of articles rating top advents. But yes, your thoughts reminded why I was never into advents for myself or as gifts. 😅 I was almost tempted finally, but I’m going to avoid them. I don’t need more mini samples I wasn’t initially interested in.

I got the mini Charlotte Tilberry pillow talk sets for $25 pt pt medium and pt intense -never had any CT before… I love these colors!!!! Especially the intense perfect Fall lip color my shade of red!!! I’m definitely going to get the Perfume sampler set I did not know u get a free bottle that’s so cool thanks!!!!! Perfect hubby present too 🤍🤍🤍 don’t get as many choices tho boo lol! And the Laniage sampler set I love the vanilla and berry I can have a different flavor every night 🤣

The chanel packaging is beautiful packaged in both the box and the drawstring option. I hoever am very happy even if i would get the products directly in the box the producer puts it. Less wasteful, and I generaly love tiny things , big packaging that 'feels' substantial is imho kind of not very environmentally friendly. Our gift recipients know the value of a Dior or chanel product. Plus their normal outer packaging is sometimes very nice in itself, and anyway it gets thrown away so fast. I think the companies play out of the fear of having a too insignificant gift.But thoughtful gifts are always well received even it's just a lip gloss ❤

Eh, lip oils are kind of mostly the same across brands so once you have one or two I don't feel like it's necessary to buy more. I like the ones from Merit

Love your reviews,,,they are all so helpful and honest! I am interested in the Tom Ford Ombre Leather perfume that you mentioned that you wear ( I am tired of my Chanel Noir). I see that there is the Parfum and an Eau de Parfum (which seemed to not get great reviews due to smelling like leather). Which one do you wear? Thank you!

I always end up using just one thing in gift sets and wish I’d just gotten a full size of something instead…except for fragrance sets. I feel like little tester/gift sets are so helpful and almost always worth it! There is nothing that feels less luxurious than a microscopic luxury lipstick. Gah!

Whenever I see a mini lipstick, I run - fast - in the other direction! Have you ever had one that DIDN’T break? Why would I gift that to someone, unless with full disclosure: “Hey, I got these samples and cannot use them. Do you want them?” The best mini out there IMHO is an Hourglass powder, perfect for handbag and travel. They don’t break!

I bought that touchland hand sanitizer at the peak of covid and it's cute and smells very nice (I had the watermelon one). It's like a luxe sanitizer but no I wouldn't buy that set. We don't have that brand at sephora canada either.

I love that you are so honest. Everything you say. Is spot on. Yeah. Those set. Meh. I only love the Lancôme lash idole. So get this. Their perfume samples was always $25. Look at how much they are now. Like $45 or something (Not this one you showed ) it’s the smaller sampler bottles All have gone up. I get it. And you get mostly the same scents too. Have you seen the diptyqe advent calendar. ?? They charge so much for them even alone. Crazy. No offense to anyone. Those YSL LIPS. OMGOODNESS I WOUD faint

THE AFTER ADVENT CALENDAR 😂 that whole concept should be a crime, WHO is buying that??? That Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mascara is one of my absolute favorites! I don't like her other ones, but that one changed my mind about hating plastic bristles because it looks so good on me, I'd definitely recommend trying the mini size!

I am definitely anti advent calendars, only way I would buy one is if I new everything in it and I wanted everything and it had value ie not little sample sizes. Sephora must only be tricking new customers cause year after year it’s one of the worst ones IMO Therefore, I don’t mind the advent calendar rant 😆

I feel that the sets this year are not so exciting.. Kind of tired of the monotone trend that brands are doing. Love the sephora lips selection but the colors are too similar. I'm trying to be more mindful this time, maybe will be more holiday sets worth looking into next month.
