Thank you for all of the knotweed videos, it is going to help me a ton with getting rid of the plant around our property.

The method that I have had success with is to cut the stalks just a 1/2 inch above the ground and immediately spray a mixture of 705 acidity vinegar, salt and dawn dish soap. I mix the vinegar 1 part to 3 parts water, 1/4 cup of salt and 3 oz dawn dish detergent. I set my sprayer to stream and spray the mixture directly into the hollow stem. It's been year two and the clumps that I have sprayed have not resurfaced. There are a lot of other sprouts have come up but, not in the same area of the treated cluster.

interesting, what is 705 acidity vinegar? can't find a translation. electric treatment also sounds promising, there are vids where transport for london uses rootwave pro

Does the 3 step process get rid of them for good? It's surprising to hear, because the majority of other videos and/or articles recommend smothering with with tarps and for at least 5 years, and even then they can grow back.

Hi. Thanks for the video. Are the large mature shoots that come from the ground always hollow? They appear to be in your video but I'm not too sure? Thank you.

Hi Mohammed, yes, as the bamboo-like stems grow, they become hollow in the center.

When you say take away the babies ,what do you mean?First year and i have two small patches

The plant spreads by seed, too, so u may see small seedlings. These “babies” can be gently pulled up or dug out. Sprouts popping up from older roots should be cut off above ground. Don’t attempt to dig out extensive root systems but focus on carbohydrate deprivation, cutting back the above ground growth.
