Hey folks! Serban is an incredible inspiration and an even better person. I've known him since I was a pre-teen, as his Grandmother and my Grandmother were first cousins, so our families knew each other. First, the English pronunciation of his name is how it's spelt. Pronounced "Sir-ben". In Romanian, his name is pronounced "Cher-ban" with a soft "CH" like in "Cher". His last name is pronounced "G-en-knee-ah" with a hard "G" like in the word "Game". We both grew up in Montreal and our parents still keep in touch. He used to work at a music shop in Dollard Des Ormeaux when he was a teen, and sold me my first electric guitar back in the day. He's awesome, and so down to Earth, you'd never guess he was such a super star. Funny enough, we both somehow ended up living in Virginia Beach, VA, for awhile, and a good friend of mine owned the home next to where his mixing studio was. I haven't seen him in a long while, but his career is very well known to all of us in his family. Such an awesome guy. He deserves every ounce of success he's attained.

As a Romanian I can tell you its pronounced Sherban Ghenea (like Guetta, but with "nea" instead of "ta" at the end )
