What a physical talent. Not only tennis and mindset, she had such physicality.... Power, coordination, flexibility. So many qualities. Really, once in a generation.

A lot of people assume speed was her biggest asset movement-wise, but I think the crucial factor for her movement was her balance. I think second only to Clijsters in terms of her balance. It's what enabled her to hit not only with power and control, but keeping it fluid and loose. And of course you probably best see her balance when she was fully loading up for a serve.

I’m actually gone say she’s still number one. To be that physical, and maintain such balance was next level. Clijsters wasn’t a physical player. She could never keep up with Serena or Venus.

@@JCole-fg3rr I can see that. Think that may be more a match-up issue than anything else. By the end, Clijsters definitely had the advantage in the Venus match-up, and think that was partly because Venus' speed wasn't quite what it was at her peak. But Serena, Venus, Clijsters all different types of movers I think.

Clijister wasn't close to serena it was hard to get serena off balance. Let alone wrong foot her until she was much older

@@joshkitto940 Clijsters only had the upper hand because of Sjogren’s which you could tell really started to affect her by 2004. Clijster’s was a counterpuncher, who could run for days. Venus was a defensive mover, who relied on her athleticism and power. Serena was an offensive mover, always looking to use her power and athleticism to dominate and get back to the offensive

One thing I never understood about Serena downplayed and undersold how hard she must've worked in the gym and fitness training and flexibility training. She always said that she never worked out or that she hated to work out when that clearly wasn't true.
