Since Sergey is a Greco-Roman wrestling champion, his praise of Khabib and Islam should speak volumes of how great they are.

Khabibs village alone produced like 8 Olympic gold medalists. Khabib trains wrestling with these guys. He doesn't do division 1 all American and all that crap. He trained with Olympic gold medalists from childhood.

@@Lucifer0872Judging by his name he is some Arab who lives vicariously through Chechen/Dagestani fighters. I am a fan of most of the Caucasus fighters but their ascent in UFC has produced one annoying side effect...now there are dorks from countries that were never involved in mma before, like Pakistan and Arab nations, who think they are tough because they share the same religion as people like Khabib and Khamzat.

A huge part of martial arts is respect although a light bit of trash talk to sell the fight and a lot of respect after the fight is in my opinion a good balance.

@@harsha1989able Sergei is the only guy who has the same reach as Jon Jones, BUT he has insane power compared to Jones, and incredible Handspeed compared to Jones. He is incredibly accurate too, unless you wrestlefuck this man or named Ngannou so that you can have the same lvl of threat as him, there is problems. Also Ngannou usually swings like a moron except for the second Stipe fight, Sergei is a lot more technical. Veterans of striking sports understand when they see Sergei swing, that even when he brawls, he somehow keeps incredible distance awareness even when throwing nukes as quick as he can, he catches you at the end of the punches, and is not a single puncher, he throws 4-5-6 punch combos so that even if there isn't an opening he creates it.

Khabib fought Gleason Tibabu before he joined AKA. Khabib joined a smaller less famous MMA gym in New Jersey when he first arrived in the USA. I think Islam was also still in Russia at the time so they weren’t able to train together.

issue with being a wrestler is that it doesnt make you a better "fighter". In terms of 'fighting" I associate with something on the street, a lot of the times without weight class, if a heavy weight striker was on the street khabib would definitley not be the strongest of the street. The heavyweight champ is almost always the goat at the time. For people to even put up people like Demetrius Johnson, Mcgregor, Khabib, as some of the best of all time is hilarious. Theyre not even close, anyone in the heavy weight division could kill them.
@bayyinahawesome415
@bayyinahawesome415 10 ай бұрын
Most people are not heavyweights and I don't think any untrained 7 feet guy will be able to do anything to khabib. Also khabib has been in a lot of street fights. If you talk about DJ now that is a different issue. He will have a really hard time. But still untrained guys will most probably end up losing. Lastly, I don't think any respectful martial artist or a heavyweight champ will ever fight other martial artists in the street even if they have some sort of a beef.
@freedomwhenneeded
@freedomwhenneeded 10 ай бұрын
@@bayyinahawesome415 yes but u do admit if pavlovich walked up on khabib on the street he would literally die. Do you really think Khabib can do what Fedor did to big guys? You need a sort of aggression in fighting, and not be scared to hold on for dear life if your a mixed striker and wrestler or striker. Look at Jon jones too, surviving the most crazy armbars ever, doing crazy quick moves. Khabib just grinds out his opponents and just lets them gas out, and takes it so slow in fights. In a street fight one sucker punch is all it takes and its over.
@bayyinahawesome415
@bayyinahawesome415 10 ай бұрын
@@freedomwhenneeded If you talk about aggression then just look at khabib's training videos. Everyone around him is scared of him when he turns on coach mode or even hard sparring mode. Umar nurmagomedov and islam makhachev were both complaining how hard khabib makes them work. Khabib reportedly never lost a sparring round. I think that boils down to pure aggression. And like I already mentioned khabib has been in many street fights and said he never lost. The Russians are a different breed and khabib grew up in one of the toughest parts of Russia. Your argument makes sense as a whole but it certainly depends on who is fighting.
@freedomwhenneeded
@freedomwhenneeded 10 ай бұрын
@@bayyinahawesome415 Its hard sparring but its not quick sparring. Are you saying hes the best wrestlers out of wrestlers? Sure, but if he goes up against a good mix like we saw with makhachev and volk, or fedor. Its over for them.
@bayyinahawesome415
@bayyinahawesome415 10 ай бұрын
@@freedomwhenneeded So you think khabib would lose to volk? Makhachev won. Khabib is better than makhachev as an overall fighter. Ikram aliskerov is a sambo champion, so is islam and so is khabib. Yet if you look at aliskerov fight you will know that there are levels to this game. Khabib fights in the cage in one way. Doesn't mean he will do the same in the street. In a one on one situation grappling would be good because it is the toughest art and most people don't know a thing about it. If there are multiple attackers that's a different issue. Khabib's judo coach said that he was disappointed that khabib left the judo gym because surely he would have been a champion. Javier mendez said that khabib was better than the others in pure boxing. Basically whatever khabib does he tries to become the best at it.
