French citizen Sergei Pugachev, former advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, is currently wanted by Russian authorities. In the West, he is known as one of the Kremlin’s most prominent critics and has received death threats, resulting in round-the-clock state protection. How did one of the wealthiest individuals in Russia lose his assets? Why is Pugachev seeking over $12 billion from the Kremlin through The Hague Tribunal? Who is threatening his life? Can Swiss banks assist Russian oligarchs in evading sanctions? How is it possible for a bank based in Switzerland to forge a signature? And where was the child of Alina Kabaeva, whom Pugachev refers to as Putin’s de facto wife, actually born? All of these questions are addressed in an exclusive interview with Elena Servettaz in SWI swissinfo.ch's new special project, “On the Record”.

it's a gimmick for idiots: to pretend the interview was impromptu as if he never expected her visit and he's "on the run" and not really happy to welcome her in. that only shows the opposite: that the piece was totally ordered and paid by him.

These oligarchs crack me up. They rob the country blind under Yeltsin in the 90's through bribes, kickbacks, etc. When Putin does it to them, they cry foul.😢 Please! These guys just should be happy to be alive, living in the West and still enjoy lives of luxury.... In other words, cry me a river Seriozha...😅

so nice to see the self-serving meet their Karma......lying and stealing among' friends'. He probably got his enormous assets for a dime in the '90's when the USSR's assets were distributed among the connected like mr. Pugachev.

Maybe this man is totally innocent and somehow made his money 1 million percent legitimately..... But this man is so guilty and the fact that he thinks that he could simply sell all his assets and walk away from this....

No, he's not innocent and did not make his money legitimately. He and all the oligarchs plundered the Russian state assets and just because they had the complicity of the President (Putin) and his cabal does not make it legitimate.
