The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I saw this outstanding performance on that day in 1965. It made me a forever fan!. I went on to study his life and his music..and wrote 4 Wikipedia articles about this fantastic singer. It took me 1 1/2 years. I couldn't stand the thought that his god-given talent would ever be forgotten.❤

Saw this LIVE when I was a youngster. Everyone all over the nation talked about it the next day. Americans LOVED it and honored The Lord. It was God’s country then. May we make room again in our hearts for The Lord and bring our country back to God’s good graces.

Yea HE DID HAVE MUCH powerful classily trained voice .. ( that He was-known for !…but it was a tenderLOVE SONG And he matched it to bland with her harmony and compliment the mood of the song and it’words❤️💋

While I appreciated to "proper applause" of the audience, I laughed because if he had sung this at my church, he might've gotten a hymnal and a shoe thrown at him (in jubilance) accompanied by a chorus of shouts of praise and stomping! LOL! Bellissimo, Signore!!!!

My farther would stop whatever he was doing when a classically trained singer like Sergio Franchi sang on TV. When people would say something like Sinatra was a great singer, my farther would laugh and he would say .... Are you kidding! Sinatra is nothing but a crooner!
