Herc is smart as hell. The way he elaborates and explains things really help me see things better and gives me a good perspective. I liked when he said the gaurds yelled "hey" at him and he said "my names not hey. Its Marcus. Im not just a number". They may be in prison, but a ton of these guys are generally good dudes who just made a bad choice. They are still human beings and deserve to be at least treated as such.

My cousin was one of Ted Bundy's few survivors. She was a Nursing student at FLA ST. , Her roommate was butchered and killed and he was waiting for her when she came home later. Needless to say it ruined her life forever, She moved back home for a short time then moved to another place. She has had an Attack dog with her everywhere she has gone since it happened. She testified in Court and that was the last she ever spoke of it. Trust me the victims become more mental that the killers ever were.

Scary description of these killers. I have to agree with Herc about the thinkers being the most dangerous. The most dangerous person I ever met was both a psychopath and a genius. Didn't help he was physically strong as well. Guy asked me where I lived and I stayed silent. His eyes changed and became a brighter color as if they were glowing and I could see him with great effort suppress his rage and become calm again. That was all it took for him to want to kill you.

I did a good amount of time. Serial killers or regular killers don't get any type of respect out my way. I remember I met a dude who was in for murder. He shot a cab driver. He was a hothead and always talked shit. Young dude, about 22 at the time. We were in the yard chillining one day and he was talking shit just being loud. A brotha who was a little older asked him to quiet down. He was around 30 somethin. Muslim dude. Thick beard kid I, mishwack stick in his mouth, clean scrubs, all that. Hothead kept yelling. Muslim OG walked to him and said. I asked you nicely before, now I'm telling you to shut tf up. I ain't no cab driver and there ain't no guns around here. Hothead didn't say shit after that. Muslim dude read his Quran like nothing happened.

I wonder how different the world would be if prisons were focused on education. For example when you enter, they do testing to see where you are educational. They could have inmate teachers and tutors for inmates needing to get their high school diploma. And then have different programs of study. Let inmates earn degrees in anything from medicine to law to psychology to technical or engineering degrees. And inmates with life sentences let them become teachers or even nurses or work as a counselor. Some of the most intelligent and talented people are locked up. So why are we not educating inmates and utilizing their talents. Now I know there will be some who will not buy into the idea of education at first. But peer pressure is a powerful tool. A lot of the people who first entered prison never dealt with a gang or lived by some "inmate code". But instead of letting gangs educate the people entering the prison, we need to help educate the people. I don't care how many prison documentaries I've seen, the one thing I noticed about the inmates who had radical life changes was buying into the idea of education. And I would have the inmates day started out early they go to school and have some kind of job. They stay busy. By time they have evening chow they are settling in for homework or just relaxing. Have tutors in each dorm to help with homework. And start over the next day. Monday-Friday... on the weekends as long as tensions are low, they can have different intramural sports. And of course visitation. Statistics say that 80% of inmates are released or paroled. When they re-offend it cost taxpayers millions. So wouldn't it make since to correct the behavior. Sticking someone in a building with other people and nothing to do, they will find stuff to do. But if we could really educate inmates and help them to be successful, then I think it would slow down the recidivism rate.
@poxalias
@poxalias 6 жыл бұрын
If you're curious how that would be just research Norwegian prisons :) Their focus is on education and rehabilitation and the recederism rate is under 20%. Inmates in some prison are also allowed tools like hatchet's, huge knives etc. with no reports of violence, sounds crazy right? The whole system is built different and i works wonderfully compared to the us.

It’s really fucked up how messed up our Justice system is. Please keep up the videos for all the first timers. Just cause you go to jail doesn’t mean your a hardened criminal. Anyone remember that scene in Oz where the cannibal serial killer gets put amongst general populace, and of all the new guys, gets absolutely no trouble whatsoever because all of the other inmates are scared shitless of him? That was hilarious.

Love the show, grew up with ex-convicts and felons, followed in footsteps, and you speak truth, for sure. Would love to see what you think about both, infamous inmates(i.e. manson, dahmer, etc.) and celebrity inmates(i.e. lil wayne, Mike Tyson, etc.). How are they treated, and do they buy outside luxuries? Never spent time with any myself, nor did any of my people.

I made a buddy in Jail in AZ. 2 Days before his release in Calf they page 2'd him and sent him to AZ to face chrges instead of getting Paroled in Calf. The day he was getting put on the bus to be brought to Az he actually saw Charlie Manson being walked across the yard by a guard. He said Charlie was so small he actually thought it was a little kid until he saw his face.

I could have sworn that a serial killer is any one that murders three or more people out of cold blood. So many gangbangers are actually serial killers.

The reason for serial murders doesn't really matter. Just like murder as a hate crime vs murder for hire. The victims aren't better off for one type than another. They're prematurely dead and their families still suffer. My point is murder is murder. Multiple murders are serial murders. Of course, extenuating circumstances matter. But it's hard to excuse three murders by saying "It was him or me".

There's a massive psychological aspect to that particular question. But a pretty simple answer would be there are shooters and there are killers. Both are taking lives but a shooter is completely different than a serial killer or somebody that is literally taking pleasure watching somebody's life be extinguished.

I once watched a documentary on a gang member saying it is ok to rat your neighbor out if you know for a fact he is a serial killer. it is ok to not rat if you don't want to and go over there and handle it yourself. the gang member made it sound like that serial killers are way worse than a lot of other crimes that happen. but remember, i'm just saying what I heard from a documentary on youtube.
