When they roll around like that, it's because they found something they like the smell of, and they're trying to rub it on themselves. Mine usually finds the stinky stuff. lol

You guys are such an amazing team! it's so funny seeing how similarly you interact with your dog vs how I interact with mine XD Honestly watching your videos is really inspiring, as seeing that he's still learning, and it seems like all the other handlers I see are already really far into their training, so I can't relate to them as much

Just wanted to say you're doing a really really good job with him!! Everything you're doing is so great. Ecollars are the best tool for off leash freedom (actually the only one that makes being off leash actually safe) and your markers are perfectly timed! I'm a dog training enthusiast and soon-to-be professional and I love watching you work. 👍👍👍👍

At 15:30 when he is rolling on the ground it’s because they will find a dead worm or something that smells bad and roll themselves on it. Idk why dogs do that but they love it 😅

This is actually quite helpful. My 5 month old great pyrenees puppy is great with sit and stays. However, she needs work on ignoring people, so this was extremely helpful seeing as how this is the first time I've ever trained a dog to help me with my P.O.T.S before, and most people are really rude and say I have to pay for her training yet she does wonderful at home.

Do you plan on getting a vest in the near future? I don't know what your colors are but I have some blue vests for sale (L) or I could take a loss and send you one as a "throw away" vest for when you do random things and you don't want any other piece of gear to get dirty.

i deleted my other comments because they're pretty much useless, i underestimated the training of the dog and basically repeated a bunch of stuff you already know but i just wanted to add that i think you should take off the leash wraps indicating he's a service dog in training when he's just on a regular walk, not training. it's important to understand that when you have the leash wraps on saying that it's a service dog in training, you're repping every service dog team (and service dog, whether you like it or not- because the general public just kind of works that way unfortunately). if you're going on a casual walk people will begin to think that a dog pulling ahead, sniffing, and stopping every 2 seconds is regular service dog behaviour, making it hard for regular people to identify a fake service dog, as well as possibly get you fake-spotted (it'll happen eventually but the lower amount of times it happens the better, just not a situation anyone likes, really /lh) another thing i noticed is that you aren't correcting him when he moves out of the heel or rushes through the store doors? not with the e-collar i mean, just verbally. saying 'no' or using a marker (correction) noise goes a long way. a small correction noise will go a long way with really getting down and understanding that heel, that you expect him to heel even when he's distracted or even when he wants to move forward. ignoring it won't help since he doesn't know what he's doing isn't desired behaviour. my dog is very good at heeling but sometimes she gets too far ahead and breaks heel, a small verbal correction is all she needs to get back into a heel. trust me, it's very helpful (as long as your dog responds well to correction, usually australian shepherds do, but for small sensitive breeds one may avoid correcting too much) and also consistent words ! i notice you're using 'free' when you want him to get up to heel, but i was under the impression that 'free' was your release word. it's important to not mix the two because he'll get confused when you say 'free' and then get upset that he's just ran off to eat food off the ground or (hypothetically) run up to a stranger instead of heeling
@AstroFromTheBlue
@AstroFromTheBlue 2 жыл бұрын
hi hi! thank you for all of the tips! We did change some things over the past couple of days! I did start adding a "no" correction if he goes ahead. I've always been taught that you're not supposed to say NO to a dog, lols (which is actually crazy), but i don't agree with that anymore. I also don't use "free" (his release word) until he is done the task/command that I asked him to do. i am slowly making changes and will be updated in a new video soon! I really appreciate all of the tips that you have. on our normal neighborhood walks I do take the "service dog" sleeve off. i really don't want the sd community to get smashed on by other dogs.

I don’t think you should allow anyone to either talk to your service dog, or worse, pet it. They should be totally focused on you and you alone.
